2013 Nike Women's Marathon

I searched for a thread but couldn't find one - sorry if this is a duplicate!

Anyone going to try to get into the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco this year?

Re: Robbie-T @ Marden Half Marathon

Congrats again :D It was a hilly course for sure, and the weather was certainly less than ideal. It never occurred to me that the halfers would catch up to the 10K - yikes. If it makes you feel any better, I caught up to the end of the kids' race on that trail. I am happy to say I managed to pass a ...

WTG on the second place finish Rob! The Men's Winner, Robbie-T and the Women's winner ran by me on their way back to the finish when they were just over 11K into the race. Each were flying and all had a seemingly huge gap (probably only 20-500 metres) on the runner behind them. Very impressive runn...

Re: Nov 28-30 - $15 to Register for 1/2 marathon 5 and 10 km

One more thing...they say the race is chip timed - and it is, in the sense that you have a chip - but there's no chip mat at the start, only at the finish so chip time = gun time. In a race this size that shouldn't make a huge difference, but thought everyone should know so you don't dawdle at the s...

Re: Nov 28-30 - $15 to Register for 1/2 marathon 5 and 10 km

Locals/Robbie/Doonst - can we get a course review. I see the out and back, is this on a flat road or a hilly one? Thanks! I drove it in the "return" direction on the way to work today...I would describe it as mixed - several rolling areas, several flat spots, probably about 4 steep (not r...

Re: Skechers running shoes

I was given a pair to try. The goofy lump thing Mike describes is weird alright - if I had tried these on in a store, I would never have bought them - and I wouldn't wear them to walk or stand around in for that reason. But for running, I was actually pleasantly surprised. I don't swear by them, as ...

What's the date this year, Erin? I can only find last year's date. goooood question! :) Hmm- don't know! Re: DHR 500 (aka "torture")

The first few times I did this was right after another challenge so I could (almost) do it all the way through. I haven't done anything of the sort in a loooong time, so were I to attempt this workout now, I would probably start at 10s and work my way up!

Nicely done, IB! I can't believe you did the push-ups  When I saw people doing that I thought, geez, if I got down there all I would do is go to sleep! I also can't believe you wore that suit in the heat! I wore my Supergirl suit on the Saturday and Captain Jack Sparrow asked if the "S&quo...
