I am on this quest too... Went into Sport Chek last night and they didn't have the UA Premiere II in my size, and the clerk seemed to think I was crazy - and my quest had me too frustrated and tired by then to actually ask her to look it up in the computer since the website said they carried it...an...

Sort of related to the original question...I know it is different for different people, but approximately how long after you consume something on a run should you feel a difference? Or should you not feel a difference but stay at a continuous level?

Thanks everyone :D Sometimes it is so easy to get wrapped up in all the books, magazines, and other "pro advice" and apparently I lost sight of what I was doing. I am still very much a beginner, having spent the first 3 years of my running career just sort of toodling around, leading an LTR here and...

ARGH! Not doing this right

I have been feeling a little out of sorts with regards to my training because I keep finding that I am not doing things right - mostly just being sloppy! I found out the hill I run my repeats on is not long enough, and I strongly suspect that my LSDs have been too fast, meaning I am not getting the ...

The plan I am following right now for a 1/2 calls for a steady easy run the day before LSDs. I have been doing it and have never really noticed any difference one way or the other compared to not running the day before. I am always careful to make it a full 24 hours before though - ie if I am doing ...

I have found I do much better if I have a little something before my morning runs, but if I don't have an hour to digest, it has to be something super-easy to digest - lately it has been vanilla rice milk (because I had it in the fridge) and that has been going really well. Then I eat breakfast when...

We got our rain yesterday too (supposed to be more this afternoon) - but you wouldn't know it! Muggy, humid, soupy air this morning. Yuck. But sooooo glad I did my 5K at 6am, cuz if it was bad then, it can only get worse (I am such an optimist  )

Have a great day :)

In August / Sept I love getting the new Macs, I can eat a bushel of them. Remember when i lived in Kamloops there was an Mac apple orchard in the back of our apt block that was open and we used to eat them until our stomachs were aching. I completely agree - can't get enough of these in the fall YU...

The RR one is awful! Got one, the bouncing didn't seem that bad but the belt itself was flawed and the large bottle holder started to become detached from the belt. Exchanged it and the same thing happened again. That time I just threw it out and went back to the same ole belt I'd been using since ...

A few of us Maniacs are going to be pacing the half with goal times of 2:30 to 1:45, and Adidas is being super generous at the Tune-up runs giving out tons of door prizes (free shoes, shirts, etc.....
