I'm already registered, btw I live just past no-where-ville, it's very nice up here!!!

Don't miss this race! It is one that you will never forget and you will want to do again.
This will be my 9th time doing it in a row. Still shooting for sub 40.

Robbie-T @ Chase the Coyote Trail Race

This was the inaugural year for this race it was held at Mono Cliffs, the Bruce Trail goes through it and parts of the race were on the trail. The long course was 14.5k and had a wide variety of terrain, some double lane, long steep hills, board walks, twisty technical dirt trails, stairs. I'd rate ...

Re: Running By Time vs Distance

I realize that this is an old thread but I'll add my .02 I train by pace mostly, time per kilometer. Either I'm doing a slow day, long day, run day, tempo day, interval day And then distance and time are pretty much calculated by how much free time I have at that time. However I do pay attention to ...

XC is awesome, I love a good humble butt kicking on the XC course. I have raced with the Masters here and those guys go very hard. It is a sport for the strong.

Thanks for sharing.

Go on you to try something new and get out of your comfort zone. It's good to get your butt kicked every once in a while.

Robbie-T @ 5Peaks Terra Cotta Trail Half Marathon

Chasing Flags! This Half was promoted as one of the toughest of its distance in Ontario this year. It was close to home, much of the course was on the Bruce Trail that I've run a bunch of times. So I decided why not should be a lot of fun and a good challenge. I knew it would be a tough course, many...

Re: Doonst on the rocks: 5 Peaks Terra Cotta Half Marathon

I'd have to agree Doonst, that was a great course, very challenging but very well marked and managed. I too would like to try it on a dry day, many times I slowed up so to avoid crippling injuries or in places where my body may not have been found.

I should put together a race report in a day or two.

Re: Robbie-T @ Wiarton 13k Shore to Shore

We were in the area for some vacation time at a small cottage, were I slept on the coach , much junk food was ate and beers drank, not great pre race prep but I tried to dry up a bit the day before the race at least. Maybe if you weren't sleeping on your coach, s/he'd have helped you find those 15 ...

Robbie-T @ Wiarton 13k Shore to Shore

Course: Start at Oliphant Beach corner (Lake Huron) along a paved county road past an inland lake, farmland, quarries then through the streets of Wiarton finishing downhill of the Niagara Escarpment at the Wiarton Arena (Georgian/Colpoy's Bay) That description sums it up pretty good, except for most...

Re: Speed vs. weight?

The idea is if you have extra weight to lose, reducing your body mass can result in gains in speed. If it takes extreme measure to lose the weight you may be causing other problems. Fasting can create hormonal disruptions which may interfere with other systems. A friend of mine dropped his weight f...
