How'd it go?? I went for a 15k run early morning thinking I'd beat the heat - I didn't. Even at +18C in the a.m. sun it was so hot, steamy. Was thinking of y'all.

Toronto Waterfront Marathon used to be end of September... they had some gross hot sticky ones before they moved to the old Toronto Marathon timeslot (late October).

It's a risky time of year for a marathon in these parts.

Tightening up my shoes helped, even without fancy laces. I like loose shoes but I guess for downhill it isn't the right way to go.

I did the Sulphur Mountain loop. It was tough. I ran maaaaybe 15% of it on the way up, rest was a fast hiking pace. The way down killed my quads, couldn't believe how hard that was actually! I've only ever had problems on trails (with the steep hills/etc), and mostly I just let my toenails go to toenail heaven and shrug it off...

... but I'm doing a 50k this fall, and that seems like a bad strategy.

I'll have to try it next run.
