19km with 15km at marathon pace this morning. Wicked headwind for the return portion of my run made it tough.

rest day for me. super sore from grown-up tag yesterday. I can't believe nobody swung for the fence with you offering that one up so nicely! Nice one for me this morning- we were in downtown Toronto for a later March break trip with the kids, so I did just under 15km- had a nice tour ar...

27km for me this morning. Headed north of town again to get some hilly miles- the route offered very few flats, lots of rollers, and a few big and steep climbs and descents. Had a light, wet snow the whole time, and was with a buddy. It was a great run.

I didn't know waves & corrals were posted! I'm # 8759, Wave 1, Corral 9. It's starting to feel real! I'm betting on you this year. Since Erie, I've adopted you as my horse for Boston. Not that I won't cheer for Ken and Robin, but especially you. Thanks Laura! I'm really looking forward to it. M...

Good morning all! After having 2 pretty bad runs Monday and Tuesday, I really wasn't sure how today's run would go- had 19km with 15km at Marathon pace on the schedule. It went really well. I was just a couple of seconds off marathon pace due to the roads being snow covered, and the -27WC didn't rea...

Rest day for me. Went to bed early last night, and didn't get up at 4:45 this morning for a run, so I think tomorrow's run will be much better after getting rested up a bit.

Re: Training Tuesday
Another not great run for me- had 2 x 5km at 1/2 marathon pace planed. Got 4km in to the first one and called it quits and jogged home- no energy, and my hips were feeling too tight. This seems to happen in every marathon training cycle- about 6-7 weeks out I hit a rough patch. Thank goodness tomorr...

Re: Dyslexic luddites of the world, untie !
I use my Garmin when I want to, and not when I don't want to. For some days, where I have a specific workout that I want to do at pace and/ or distance I find it pretty handy. On other days, when I know my route, and I just want to run at a pace I want to run at (without caring how fast or slow it i...

Re: First 10k Marathon
Thanks all for the extra push to get me going... think i'll start bundling up and get my run on :) Here's my #1 tip for running when it's cold- put on on extra layer, do a 10 or 15 minute loop from your house or car to warm up, pull off that layer, and then carry on. Once the blood gets pumping I a...

Tough one for me this morning- I think that between doing a hard effort run yesterday evening and then not being quit adjusted to the time change, it just wasn't my day. 10km super slow, with a couple of walk breaks. Oh well...... onward and upward.........

Fast Friday
Good morning all!
I had some trepidation about this morning's run, but it went really well- 2.5km warm up, then 15km starting at marathon pace then ramping up the speed to a few seconds off 1/2 marathon pace for the last 3 km, then a cool down for a total of 19km.

Wow- for the first time in ages it was warmer for Ian's run that mine! When I left the house it was -19, when I got back it was -21! Just 7.5km for me- I had a bit of a struggle to drag myself out of bed this morning, and by the time I did I only had time for 7.5 rather than the 10 I had on the sche...

Re: Good luck Sunday
Challenging one for me today- 27.5km on the hilliest route around, most of which was also covered in soft snow. That was a good one to get in the bank.
