Re: Post Marathon Monday

back in the office after flying in from Vancouver this morning! Super weekend spent with great friends! Totally loved the new Vancouver course - since I'm in taper, the goal for my half was just to have a supported run...but I felt good, and kept it 'comfortable' and ended up being 18seconds off my...

Re: Post Marathon Monday

Getting back into this running thing.... again... Too many set-backs to be consistent these last few months. But.. when I get out there, I'm loving it! Yesterday I finally managed a decent run after 2wks of fighting a cold & cough. Today was a 5:30 a.m. swim & it was nice to be in the pool ...

Re: Post Marathon Monday

Is it Monday already? Too bad, because it was a good weekend. We ran a 5km race on saturday because Bingerunner's student run club was participating in it. I got a 5km pb! (28:35 according to my watch) Sunday Binge ran the Police Service Half and I was a cheerleader. Yoga for me later in the day. Th...

Bingerunner is doing the half and we're both on a relay team as well. I'm doing the final leg of the relay. Maybe we could plan a get together at Boston Pizza on the Saturday night for anyone that is around and available.

Batch cooking

24 homemade egg mcmuffins made and in the freezer. They will be a nice quick breakfast. Tomorrow I'm going to make mini chicken pot pies in muffin tins that someone posted about in the NET. How did you cook the eggs? Is there a recipe posted somewhere? We cooked the eggs on our electric skillet. We...

Re: Wednesday - are we there yet?

After three weeks out sick I started to get back into things today. Oh, how things change with illness and drugs. Three weeks ago I ran a happy 14 miles. This morning I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill and then almost passed out in a 60 minute yoga class. FFS. That said, the day ended very well be...

Thursday, halfway through March

I really didn't feel like running after a tough day at work. But, a friend came over and we went for a good 4 mile run.

I can't wait to get home to run outside - KBO's post about Winnipeg's weather almost made me think about hopping on tomorrow's plane rather than waiting until next week when I go on leave!

Re: Sleepless Tuesday

What a difference in just two days!! Sunday was a tough 11 mile slog through treacherous, icy conditions, while wearing winter gear. Today after work, capris and a t-shirt and a nice fast 5km on mostly clear sidewalks. And I saw geese and crows! Spring has sprung quite early in Winnipeg. I like it. ...

Re: Batch cooking

We do big cooks quite often. We're finding it a big help this year with Bingerunner commuting for work so far out of town. Some our staples include: - meatballs - good in spaghetti sauce, sweet & sour meatballs, or with mushroom sauce - chicken breasts - cut into strips, coooked and frozen - gre...

I did my first tempo workout in a very, very, very long time today. Four miles on the track. Now I'm feeling it. Oy. First half of the season is two months out from today. It's time to get a bit more serious about training.

Quite a satisfactory result! I think you can chase down that sub 2 hr half, when the time is right.
