Vulture Bait 50K - Saturday October 15, 2012
Wrapped up the OUS 2012 series Saturday doing the Vulture Bait 50K Ultra. The big fuss before the race was all about the weather. The forecast was for a dry start around freezing and then warming up to around 10C and getting wet towards 2pm. I had cold forearms at the Toad a couple of weeks ago and ...

I am in but will be at the back of the pack with a flask of rum! I found the perfect excuse not to race this one , doing this guy http://www.runningmania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=45853 a week earlier. I love the Nog Jog its just so festive and fun and only really two hills , one up and one...

Me too but I wouldn't be going for a record ....say a leisurely 50K a day! Hey maybe we can start an AG category with 5 year increments.
I wish I had the time and resources to do something like this

Re: The Victoria Experience
Your report was a very interesting read. You have moved into new territory judging your race by how well you felt about your effort vs your time. It makes running a ton more fun when the focus isn’t purely on the clock. Congratulations on a very successful Marathon.

I would like to see some guy named Morgan or perhaps a Dale or even a Kinga give a crack at the record!
I cant help but wonder if one of the more "Elite" Ultra Runners were to take it on what the results would be... 8 days. How about an unsupported run, holy drop bags!

Toad is special for sure and as you pointed out we had some pretty darn favorable weather this year.
Congratulations on your very solid race chainsaw. The last few Ks were pretty cool , reminiscent of days gone by or perhaps a sign of whats to come.

Wow , he smashed the record...huge! One thing that impressed me was the support he had from his family , friends and the folks in the running community. Its truly a monumental effort by all.
So now I wonder who is next to take the challenge?

I wanted to do that race but it fell on the same day as the Toad. Maybe next year.
