Re: Advice on hydration packs/camelbacks

Make sure you go and try them on to find one for you. I second the Nathan one, but it's a highly individualized choice depending on body type/torso length, etc.

Re: Sweaty bands

I forgot to post back after my run on Saturday and say that they worked! After all the hair bands I have tried, finally something keeps the heavy black bangs back during a run and doesn't slip around. They look easy to make/recreate/individualize for any people that sew.

Re: Blisters...to pop or not to pop?

Pop it with a sterilized needle. Let it drain. Leave the skin on! Cover if necessary but if not leave open to air. Will heal up on own.

Italian eggplant (big, thick and dark purple) or Asian eggplant (small, thin, light purple)? I find that Asian eggplant is easier to cook with and doesn't absorb as much oil as the Italian eggplant. Italian. I think I am just going to try grilling it as I don't have a lot of ingredients in the hous...

It's pouring rain in Ottawa right now. I hope that helps cool off the runners and doesn't impede them too much.

Re: Sweaty bands

Hum... Maybe I should ask Sonia to pick one up for me at the expo today. how much are they selling them for at the expo? $ There are three sizes, thin, medium and large. I paid $17 for my medium. I think the smalls were $15 and the thick bands were $20. The fabric choices were extensive! My...

Sweaty bands

What is so special about them? I'm now wondering if I should get one for myself! I don't do headbands well - they all fall back behind my ears (don't stay in place). Headbands don't stay on me either, that's why I wanted to try them. Heavy black bangs are not ideal when running so I like something ...

Re: Laundry soap for running clothes?

Arm & Hammer liquid laundry detergent. I don't use fabric softener at all. Dryer on cool during winter, hang outside during summer. All of the clothes, not just athletic stuff. I don't separate anything. Never had a stink, wicking works fantastic, clothes look great.

Re: Dreaming about running

I run frequently in dreams, but it's not the central theme - more like the way I get from one place to another. I'm usually very fast - something I'm not in the awake world. I don't think it means anything. Walking/running is my primary way of transportation in the awake world.

Re: Running with a dog

It's always a good idea to run the idea by your vet first. Some breeds aren't meant to run long distances or run on paved surfaces. They will always want to run with you, even when they want a rest day. In the summer, know that a dog will never stop running with you even when they are dehydrated. Th...

An example is here. I've got one similar (from Dr. S) and it works well.
