Re: Sulphur Springs 2013 - Who's In??

If you read Page 14 of the Participants Guide, its mandatory for the 100's.

I will probabably be in for the 100 but will wait to sign-up until just before the price increases.

Re: ING New York City Marathon 2012 Application

I feel sorry for those of you that are waiting to see if the race is still on and IF you can get to NY if it is still on. I hope everything works out. I am shocked that I have read some people are upset with lack of communication since its been less than 24 hours since the flooding hit. Looks pretty...

Re: Horror Hill 6 Hour Trail Race- Oct. 28, 2012

Great job Ron. I felt miserable out on the course and called it quits about 3.5 hours in. I think I got 27.5 done but I was not having any fun. I needed to change into something dry and didnt bring enough clothes for the day. Great job for all that remained out there for all 6 hours. Its a fast cour...

2 days, 2 states, 2 Sub 4 marathons

Whats better than running one marathon in a weekend, well running two of course. As I continue my quest to run a marathon or ultra in all 50 states, I have passed the 1/2 way point and ran states 26 and 27 this past weekend and reached 76 marathon / ultra finishes. It all started in 2003 and I reall...

Vulture Bait - 50km

Have always wanted to do this race, so I could get one of the shirts that says "Play Dirty, Run Trails". I had heard this was a great race, scenic, well supported etc but also heard it was not too technical and an "easy" trail run. I am not sure who told me it was not technical, ...

Re: Toronto-May 2013 issues again

I dont think its fair to say US based races are more expensive. Far from it. If you insist on doing the destination or large events they will be expensive, agree. If you are looking for something mid-size or small (less than 10,000 runners in all events) then you can get some pretty good deals. I am...

Each year the course changes. No one knows the course in advance. If it hasnt changed you are guarenteed at least one water crossing. I will probably be a bit more technical in nature than the Toad

Run for the Toad - 50k

As usual, Peggy and George put on a first class event Saturday. The weather was great, but my navigation skills to and from the race were not! Left home about 7 am and figured we would get there around 8:30. Had my directions and on the way we went. Google took me to some place in the town of Ayr an...

Great job. It was a strong field. A 5:44 for me put me second last in the 40-44 Age group. You ran right past me and looked very strong. I didnt see you at the end. Would have gone back to the car to grab the beer. See you at Vulture Bait in a few weeks.

Re: Multi-day Marathons

The Dust Bowl series in March allows you to run 5 states in 5 days. They are also doing a similiar event next fall for some of the states near ND, SD....

As the Marathon Maniacs club is based out of Washington State, lots of triples and quads in that neck of the woods.

Re: Mtl Oasis RnR Registration Opens

I liked the event. It was a bad day on the course as my legs were still tired from Run Woodstock. Pros : Closed to traffic, hardly saw any cars, liked running on the FI track; Nice medal Cons: Had to take subway to both the start and back to hotel downtown. No shuttle buses or signs to metro. When t...

Run Woodstock - Thanking WestGreyRunner

After having a short and miserable day at Beast of Burden in Lockport NY in my first 100 attempt I figured I was trained enough to give it one more try this year. (Kinga I know I should have listened to you and brought my own food, but I figured when the race is advertised as the "Battle of the...
