Re: Chimp Feet
I have chimp-feet and finger-toes. Scotty and Boy get completely grossed out by my ability to use my feet like hands. Only thing I'm missing is an opposing thumb on my feet. :(|) While Scotty may be grossed out by that ability, there are other men that would pay good money for you to use that abili...

Re: Chimp Feet
I have chimp feet. My wife finds it revolting when I use them like mini-hands to pick things up and grip. Its never actually come in handy for anything. I don't really get how your feet bend. I have extremely long toes and can pinch and tickle people with them, but as far as I know, I can only bend...

Re: Back pain after run? Maybe you're pregnant.
Stuff like this absolutely baffles me....especially for someone who's had 3 other kids. As a woman, I am highly in-tune with my body and I notice when my period goes missing for 9 days, let alone 9 months!! My husband has also had a vasectomy, but that doesn't mean I haven't had some scares. I know...

Re: Sport Doc ITBS or Menicus
For me, doing squats properly (breaking parallel and making sure not to collapse my knees) have made a big difference. Do you do this weight bearing, aka free weights, or started without? Started body weight, then moved into barbells with back, front squat and deadlift. I had a trainer watch my for...

Re: Replacing training runs with crossfit?
I am no where near as experienced as JWolf... To be clear I have no experience with crossfit but I do have experience with distance running combined with and without various cross-training activities. My answer above was based on my own experience and what I've observed with others. I answered more...

I am no where near as experienced as JWolf, but have you checked out CrossFit Endurance? It's actually designed for endurance athletes that also want to get the benefits of CrossFit.
Anyway, you may want to give it a boo...

Squeezing them can cause them to "spit" which, if they are carrying anything, is an issue.

Re: Trails and Ticks
Bear with me, I have two tick stories: I took Darby camping last Spring in St. Malo - we went through the whole tick protocol and I tried to make it fun and light-hearted "Does Mommy have any ticks?" (and I'd do a little dance so she could see my back). Next morning, "Darby, does Momm...

Re: Trails and Ticks
I wrote out this long answer yesterday, but deleted it since it didn't deal specifically with trail running, but hey, here it goes anyway! Ticks are kind of like mosquitoes, you can be side by side with someone and they get feasted on while you get barely one bite. I've had troops in the field get C...

Re: So What You're a Slow Runner!
What I got out of it was "stop thinking of yourself as slow". Speed is relative- there's almost always someone faster. But if you continually call yourself "slow" you can entrenched in that negative mindset. Agreed. And what a good reminder. There is ALWAYS someone slower, alway...

No crack, can't tell but I am guessing the seal is either defective or has an issue. I sent an email to my mom (it was a gift), to see where she got it. I am hoping from somewhere that will take it back....

Re: Water-resistant watch that actually resists water??
Why don't you contact Timex? That doesn't seem right, unless it's taken some bad knocks. I did, and I was told "Please ship it to us with tracking at your expense. When we get it, we'll see what needs to be fixed and that will be at your cost, then you will need to pay to ship it back" Ap...

Water-resistant watch that actually resists water??
My Timex Ironman is definitely biting the dust, so do any of you have any suggestions on one that will actually resist water? I had this one less than six months, and it now condenses constantly.

Re: OOOH It burns, the googles, they do nothing!
I suspect part of the problem is that they had two "foulings", one Monday and one Tuesday, so the chemmicals may have been a little heavier than usual... I am going to try everything suggested here - my skin is STILL not looking normal. I never used to be THIS sensitive, so hopefully this ...

I went for my second "swimming lesson/practice" yesterdar. My YMCA doesn't have a "Masters" swim program, so I signed up for lessons. Basically I swim laps and get a little coaching while the others learn to swim. It's nice, no pressure, no one bugs me BUT...my skin is SO dry tha...

they are being told not to use cellphones - worries about it triggering any other devices. They have shut down service, which has freaked out ppl trying to call me! I thought they were not allowed to do that (because of emergency calls) but I imagine everything is so overloaded, it wouldn't matter.

Is there swelling? Growing pains can be pretty painful. Is he not using the joints when they hurt? Does it hurt more at night? How often do they hurt? Does it wake him up?
If you're still concerned, see a different doctor.
