Re: What's with my Garmin
I was just farting around with the buttons with it plugged into my computer and it went to a weird psychedelic screen then went to the charge icon and hooked up to the computer. Seems to be okay now. I am not really sure what the problem was or what I did to correct it. Maybe it is on its way out. T...

What's with my Garmin
I hope someone will have some helpful information about my Forerunner 10. It worked fine on my way to work this morning then half way through the day it suddenly had 4 black boxes on the screen and was not functional in any way. I tried to hook up to my computer but my computer no longer recognizes ...

Re: Prior Gastrocnemius Tear
I wore stability shoes for a year after I had a tear. I gradually went back to regular cushion shoes. Pronation puts a lot of stress on those muscles so best to avoid. My tear came out of the blue, no symptoms to suggest that something was up other than I was wearing shoes that I was unhappy with. H...

LSD this morning 20k. then I went to run with my BIL who is trying to learn to run. He is hoping to be able to run 10k by the end of summer. We did 5 k run/walk keeping the conversation going. It was fun to run with someone starting out, reminds you how far you've come! I don't think he'll have any ...

Re: New runners needed post-baby
My feet never got smaller until I was post menopausal! I used to take a knife and cut out toe holes from my shoes so that I could wear shoes that basically fit, but reduce the pressure on certain toes. (It was always the forth toe on each foot for some reason). It worked quite well but I never felt ...

I looked all over the place for this study that O'Keefe is referring to and it appears not to have been published in a peer reviewed journal. I would like to be able to read it before coming to any conclusions.

I wanted to get a last skate in today (horaay!) so just a short 5k run and a 30 minute skate. Ice is in very rough shape so I think it is spring.

Went to Stanley Park and ran unwired for about an hour checking out the sea wall and assorted loops and paths. I'm not sure how far. I can't describe how much I loved the cool humidity of the sea air. Vancouverites are so very lucky

Hypothermic half in Winnipeg lived up to its name. -28 to 30 with the very brisk wind chill. It is a beautiful route that changes direction many times thus relieving the wind chill. I did get frost nipped on my cheek though. We got to watch the first 1+ periods of hockey. The wonderful volunteers on...

I still love mine for running in the snow. My feet have been warm all winter. They have stayed very soft and cushie.
Enjoy!

Interesting discussion. One added benefit of Gatorade is that your fluid bottle takes a little longer to freeze in the winter.

Re: A new month, more snow Saturday
I ran downtown today and a car did a right hand turn in front of me when I had the walk signal. I ran into the side of her car. When I glared into her window she put her foot to the floor. I was so stunned I didn't get the license plate number which was covered in mud in any case. I'm having a weird...
