Re: ATB Roll Call
He was on course, I saw him. On the left side but I can't tell you where as I don't know where I am most of the time. It was towards the end though, near where we would have gone in or come out of the hill. He had the music playing and everything. I saw him too. I think it was between the 24 and 25...

Re: Stampie gets it done at the Birch Bay 30K
Great race, great report, and I love the strong finish line pic.
Our 30 km times were really close this weekend (2:51:34 and 2:49:29), but I think you're going to kick my butt in your marathon! Based on what I've seen on FB, you've trained hard and are feeling good.

Re: ATB Sunday
Ugh. Love ATB but not today! Conditions are ugly. Somehow I have to check in mentally. This could hard. :( It definitely wasn't easy! But like Lisa, I love this race, and I'm never sorry once it's over. My only goal today was to finish, and I did, in 2:49:29 (chip time). I was expecting to be over ...

Re: Thrilling Friday
Love it when it is cool. Very unusual for this time of year (thank you Canada). On behalf of the other Canadians, you're welcome! It's going to get "cool" here again, as in "below 0 C". But it was really nice and mild this morning. 4.5 miles on the TM this morning, most of it ru...

Yesterday: 5 miles on the elliptical and a physio appointment in the afternoon.
Today: 3 miles on the elliptical plus core work and stretching.
Planning a short run on the TM tomorrow and then hoping to take it easy on Saturday before Around the Bay on Sunday.

Thanks, everyone, for the welcoming words yesterday!
Four slow miles on the TM for me this morning - the first mile was mostly walking. My calf is too stiff to run without an extensive warm-up first. For once I don't care about positioning in the ATB corrals.

It will be great to see you guys again - feels like a long time.
Re: weather forecast. Wind is always a "yuck, double yuck" but the temperature doesn't look too bad, especially if there is sun. Of course, remind me that I said this as I am shivering in the start corral, ha ha.

Missed You All Monday
Good morning! Finally show up here after months away, and I get to start the daily thread?!? Anyway, the short version of the long story is that my father died suddenly last June, so life was definitely disrupted. About the same time, my knee injury was getting worse, and I ended up taking approxima...

Windy Wednesday
Obviously I can't speak for the rest of the country, but it was pretty windy in the GTA this morning. And quite a change in the weather from the weekend - at around 6:30 this morning it was 4 C and overcast. Although that was a bit of a shock to the system, once I was moving the conditions felt pret...

Re: Taper Tuesday
Sending good taper vibes to everyone! Had a bit of a lazy weekend - didn't run Saturday or Sunday - but got out for a 21 km run yesterday. Long weekends are the best. :) I've been lazy about stretching my heel and over the weekend I noticed that there was some of that familiar "ouch" sensa...

Such beautiful running conditions in the GTA this morning - about 10 C and mostly cloudy - and I got out for a really nice 12 km. The best way to start off the Friday of a long weekend.

Happy enough Monday, anyway! I hope all the mothers had a nice Mothers Day yesterday. My father-in-law sent me a flower arrangement from the cats - that was a nice surprise! On topic, I am loving this post-marathon "do whatever" month. Recently, that was running 13 km on Saturday and 10 km...

Re: Super early start, Thursday
I had a bit of a false start on my run because when I was about 800m from home I started to feel tightness in my chest from allergy-induced asthma. Rather than continuing and then having to walk home due to not being able to breathe, I turned around, ran home, used my puffer, put it in my pocket, a...

Me too. You will be missed. I could find a pacer spot if you wanted a carefully paced run.
Thanks, that's such a nice offer! But my reason for missing ORW is that I'll be in British Columbia to visit my family. Next year.

Re: Early start Wednesday
Time to get back into the routine! I have run a total of three times since the marathon on April 26 - 10 km on Sunday, about 3 km on Monday (unplanned jog on TM at gym to catch up with a gym buddy), and 10 km this morning. Gorgeous weather this morning and it was so nice to be out there, just runnin...

Racing This Weekend
Good morning!
Between working so much for the first four months of this year, and being in London for an extended long weekend, I feel completely out of touch.
Who is racing this weekend, and where? Inquiring minds want to know; they also like stalking results.
Good luck to everyone!

C-Moss has spent most of the day sleeping...it seems to be her favourite activity these days...hard seeing her get old and tired. Hugs to you. I feel the same way about our female cat, who is at least 13, has some arthritis, and has almost no teeth. Her vision and hearing still appear to be excelle...

7.3 miles on the TM this morning. Yes, it was nice outside but I had to pick stuff up at the gym and it seemed like a good idea to enjoy that soft, forgiving surface before pounding my way along 42.2 km of asphalt and concrete on Sunday. :) I'll probably do a short run either tomorrow or Thursday mo...

Checking in to say Hi and report that I'm still running. Not many more outings before London, which seems so hard to believe. Last long run was Sunday, 34 km of run-walk, which felt pretty good. As in, not any more tiring than any other 34 km training run, ha ha. The weekend weather was beautiful an...

TGIF for sure! Started the day with a 12 km run on the indoor track at the gym. Can't wait to get outside in the mornings again, but wasn't willing to face the thunder, lightning and rain today. Yesterday was 5 miles on the elliptical. Last long run this weekend and then a two week taper before Lond...
