Re: Running By Time vs Distance
For my weekday runs, when I run tempo, moderate, steady, etc., I usually go for time, like 30 minutes, 60 minutes, etc. ... For out and back, run out for X-minutes and turn around, etc ... As for the weekend long runs, when I would do back-to-back efforts, for Goofy-type training ... one day would ...

Re: Somersault
I haven't mastered the flip turn completely but my coach has us swim front crawl to the wall, then just as we get to the wall swim 'down' the wall and then push off with your feet coming up on your back (swimming backstroke). It's kind of a half flip turn - the first step in learning it. I usually e...

Re: Clinic help again - Questions you're too embarrassed to
OOOOOOOOOOOMG this thread was hilarious! I have an odd running question, not so much 'embarrassing' but an oddity I have experienced a few times the past few yrs. Sometimes after a 'tougher' run or if I am sweating more-- I smell amonia (sp) not from my sweat but kinda in my nostrils or back of thr...

Re: Vibram Five Fingers in the Winter
A good friend of mine who runs either barefoot or in VFFs from spring-->fall uses these in the winter. I've been running minimalist for the last couple of years now and I just picked up a pair and intend to use them this winter. I haven't tried them yet I like the fact that I will be able to put on ...

Picked this up on the weekend. Any suggestions for seasoning to use with this? I'm planning on using it as a side dish with dinner. Would cooking on broth vs. water have a big impact? Their website has a link to recipes for this... I found them a little bland on their own but really enjoyed the tex...

I remember coming into the final 200 m at the end of my very first marathon and "I wanna be sedated" by The Ramones was blasting in the stadium...It kicked me up for the final burst over the finish line and every time I hear the song now I think of that moment.

Where did you find it in Costco? By the quinoa? Yes. (I think :shifty: ) I've seen it by the Quinoa. I think it's in a similar styled bag, but is red, instead of green. Do you just cook some up and eat it alone or does it taste better if you cook it into a recipe? I have tried it both on its own as...

When I am finished my swim workout I often feel "out of it"...Almost light-headed...it passes after about 20 minutes but it's just weird because I don't get it after any other kind of workout...

I have the previous version of this one from MEC - we got it on sale last year...My husband has a CycleOps fluid trainer and the feel is more consistent and it's a bit quieter than mine. But mine is decent and trained me up good over the winter for some mountain biking in Moab.

I was running past when I saw him giving CPR. It shook me up for awhile, I'm amazed he finished after. I'm glad they updated us on the runner that collapsed, I was hoping he was okay.
