Re: Pacing, Splits, Watches and the LSD

The current or instant speed is rarely accurate, it's close, but like people have said, it just fluctuates too much to be really useful.

Re: Biggest Loser Marathon: Your thoughts

The thoughts here reflect what I have been thinking about the show in general. Running a marathon with 6 weeks training only is not a good thing, doable, but at what cost? And I know they had all this training because I've watched the season, and I pay attention to the underlying things going on. Wh...

Re: Pacing, Splits, Watches and the LSD

i prefer to use the auto-lap function on the garmin, especially for tempo runs or races. it gives more immediate feedback so you can correct quickly. relying on average pace for longer runs can allow your pace to 'slip away' from you. example: when you're 30 k into a run, you can slow by 15 sec / k...

Re: Pacing, Splits, Watches and the LSD

on mine, I look at 4 stats, but concentrate only on three. I have Total time, Total Distance, current pace and Average pace. I don't rely on Current Pace, but use it as a guide, knowing that it fluctuates with the ....everything... in life. I look at my total time now and then, but typically don't w...

I got mine from Costco last year, because of the price difference, and it's worked for over a year so far without a single problem.

This is worthy of a sticky or at least referenced somewhere for everyone to reference back to when planning their next race.

Re: Where's your running log?

itsmyrun.com is my final vote...

I just did the unthinkable and re-installed training center just to upload the data and it works like a charm... won't use it on my computer for anything other than getting it into itsmyrun.

Robbie, you da' man.

Re: Where's your running log?

OOPS, forgot what the major conundrum was with this. I need to install Garmin's Training Center, but I absolutley HATE that program because there are no maps that make any sense in it, so I don't even have it installed on my computer... But, if you quickly sync to Training Center, export that and u...

Re: Where's your running log?

Kristen you make a great PR person!! Of course I use ItsMyRun as much as I like being able to track what I've done from anywhere, and being able to easily look up how I tapered for my last race, and what paces I was hitting then and now, weekly/monthly/yearly summaries, the things that I really lik...

Re: Where's your running log?

I also use ItsMyRun. And RM. :D me too. I think I'll link my itsmyrun log to my profile signature, as Kristen did. I added some runs to itsmyrun, but find the upload cumbersome so haven't done it yet to upload all my data. I've uploaded my runs from Sports Tracks to Run Saturday, Buckeye Outdoors a...

WOW, talk about a great health care system (NOTE: SEVERE SARCASM....) Finally got to talk to the surgeons office today, and they said I won't hear from them until March or April 2010, perhaps even February if I'm lucky. This is just to HEAR from them as to a meeting date to discuss the surgery and ...

Hmm. I'm also pondering just going garmin-less for a while. Can you do that? now that I have the data in my hands, I would hate to go without it. I guess I COULD, but would hate to. I've been doing fine without it. :-) I'm sure I would too, it just makes it easier to track where and how far I've ru...

Re: Halifax Hurry-k? 5k Fun Run Tomorrow!

Really weird, but I saw these pictures posted on FB before I knew it was tied to RM people, because my friend from way back (working at McDonalds with her and her sister back in 1990-1994 or so), was in these pictures. I didn't notice this thread before, but she was the one in red. Ahh.. what a sma...
