Re: September Saturday

Up early this morning for a slow 16K run. The run was great, the amount of roadkill was something else :(

Wonder if Andy is still napping 8)

Re: Anyone know of any good resourses for veggie meals?

Another vote for Katzen's Moosewood cookbook! I also use my "The Green Door Restaurant" cookbook quite often. They now offer a newsletter with recipes as well - details here http://www.thegreendoor.ca/ My favorite resource when I need a change up: No Meat Athlete - http://www.nomeatathlete...

Re: Re: DisneyWorld Goofy - 2013

Looks like we are going to make iron daughter happy. With flights for 200 each (taxes in!) And if we're getting a family suite, it makes sense to bring her. We won't make it to the expo on Thursday, but, we want her, IB and my sister to run the 5k. Can someone else pick up their 5k bibs and then I ...

Re: DisneyWorld Goofy - 2013

We're looking at a family suite - so, either the Family Suite at All Star Music, or, at Art of Animation (only a $200 difference, and, what looks like a big upgrade to go to Animation). AoA is the newest Disney resort. If you can obtain one of the family suites at AoA, I'd take it over ASM. I say t...

Waited until I could hear the thunder this afternoon, then quickly harnessed Piko up for a run. I came home drenched in sweat, not rain, thanks to the sudden increase in humidity. Apparently the storm never hit this area  7K done.

Re: Midsummer Night's Run 2012 (Toronto)

What stops me from doing this one is the fact that it is a night race. I have such a routine for morning races down pat. I'm NOT a night runner. Me neither - that's why I do it for the costumes and beer :D It's one of my "fun runs." I still remember how I didn't recognize you in your incr...

Re: Mtl Oasis RnR Registration Opens

I got the impression from the RnR Montreal FB page they were surprised by the sell out. I'm not sure if it's the draw for a RnR event in Canada, or the fact running is super popular right now... but I figure the more, the merrier!

Re: Where is Monday?

Physio was VERY happy with my choice to volunteer instead of walk/run the race over the weekend. In return for the "wise decision", I was allowed to run a slow progression, to a max of 5K this morning. I'll admit to working hard for every step, but it felt great!! 5K in 30:29

Anyone have Canada Day run suggestions for Etobicoke or Mississauga areas? My little guy would love to do a 3K or 5K, but he'd be game for something shorter, too. Basically, he wants his Nana/Uncle/Aunt/Cousin to watch him run :D I would do the Downsview 5K it looks like a good one. I would have tr...

PT put me on the mill this morning. First a walk, then a "run"! 4.50K walk in 35:42, followed by 1K in 7:24. So slow, so frustating, but I'll admit to tears of joy at the end.

To those who raced this weekend, congrats! To all the RM father's, hope you were spoiled!

Nothing much to report here. Still working through PT exercises. Second day of pool running, coupled with 75m "run" on ashphalt. Might not be pretty or fast, but I'm trying.

I wonder what the people of Perth are thinking about all the "free" races the Goats have bee putting on since mid-May. Me thinks the locals might wonder if the town's gone run crazy or something

Re: Perth Kilt Run 2012

Yep, Terry discussed this on my FB wall a while back. Basically, he and Mary put together the kilt run with a small team. Event takes a lot of work, and as Andy can attest, was stressful for them last year with the Canada Post strike and kilts stuck in the postal system. It screwed up advance kilt p...
