Re: On the topic of cheating in races
So, when people ask, "Does it really matter if someone cheats in a race? Who is it going to hurt?" Well, maybe those people are dishonest or negligent in other parts of their lives, too! ;) no maybe about it... if a person doesn't have integrity, they don't have integrity. Well said Holly.

Re: Report: Lance considering confession
This is what's exhausting about the whole thing. My perspective: he did some good things, he did some bad things. He was the fastest cheater in a very dirty period of cycling. He was a bully. He was an inspiration to a lot of cancer patients. He raised the profile of cycling in the US. A legacy doe...

. I'm glad your not hanging by a cord of yellow bracelets around your neck. It's easy to see why you are such a big fan of Lance, you have a lot in common with him. Wu Wei, I know BMan, and at first I was mad at your inane comment. But I thought about it, and you know what? It doesn't deserve a com...

Love him or hate him, I'm sure millions (including myself) are going to be glued to the television in about an hour! I must have been the only person who didn't watch. I had no interest in it. Any of thesebmade for TV interviews/confessions mean nothing to me, and do not change my opinion. Haters w...

New Year's Day at the Snowflake
I had been looking forward to the 10k for awhile. It was my goal race for the past two months. My training had been ok, although I haven't actually run 10 km since the spring. I managed do 9k on an indoor track on Christmas Eve, however. I was up at 7, and looking through the semi dark morning, the ...

Re: Slipping & Sliding at the Snowflake
Thanks everyone. I know the time was rather pedestrian (about 3 min from my pb), but I was just happy to be back out there. I feel like a beginner right now, which I am okay with. If I can run and stay injury free, I am good. Fast times are a bonus!

Re: US Olympian reveals secret life as a Vegas call girl
Cheating on your spouse with other people's spouses is hurtful, aggressively selfish behaviour. It's not a victimless sexual preference. Society rightly stigmatizes misanthropic behaviour all the time. It's part of the social contract. I don't agree with this -- I think a lot of marriages are based...

Re: US Olympian reveals secret life as a Vegas call girl
It is interesting how her initial reaction was that she did it because she wanted to. She recognized it wasn't going to be well accepted so she kept it a bit secret, but was a conscious choice that made her happy. Later, when the fallout of the news hit, she declared it a mistake and a product of m...

Re: US Olympian reveals secret life as a Vegas call girl
I don't buy her excuse. I believe she suffered from depression, but I don't believe that's why she did it. The only reason she isvtalking about is because she was outed. Blaming depression seems to be the reason dojour when public figures get caught doing something embarrassing or illegal.
