Re: Supermoon Monday

Greetings! Work got busy and I got out of the habit of posting here, but fortunately not out of the habit of running. :) My weekend long run happened last night - 20 km - so this morning was 20 minutes on the elliptical followed by upper body weights and some core work. On Saturday we were up at the...

Re: Friday is for Friends

Ran 11+ km this morning with a running buddy who is also a friend. Absolutely beautiful conditions. We ran in the Don Valley and Taylor Creek instead of our usual route, and it was nice to mix things up a bit. Happy Friendly Friday, everyone, and good luck to anyone racing this weekend. :)

Re: Thursday's Thread

Had a nice 10 km run last night with a running buddy who I hadn't seen for a while. It was a little more humid than I expected but still very nice temperature and conditions. Rest day today.

What's up? Wednesday

Nothing special for me! I ran 6+ km this morning with a gym buddy, and am planning 8 or 10 km at Runpub tonight. Beautiful day here so far and my fingers are crossed we don't get the showers that are in the forecast. Have a good one, everybody. :)

Re: Rainy Tuesday

The original plan for today was a hard run on the TM - first one in weeks. But I had trouble getting up, and wasn't feeling the love, so it turned into 10 km on the indoor track. "Anything is better than nothing" and it's actually a pretty good distance. Busy day at work so best get back t...

Re: Isn't anyone running Monday?

LOL, I did run today but it wasn't planned. What was planned was a gym day, but it was so nice outside this morning that I swapped 30 minutes on the elliptical for 6 km on the roof track. Followed by upper body weights and stretching. On the weekend my long run was 17 km on Saturday night, which was...

Re: FRIDAY

TGIF!!! Great day so far since it started with a 12 km run in perfect conditions. At some point the weather is going to be hot and humid again, so I'm very happy to be able to run on days like this. Have a great weekend, everyone. :) And good luck to the racers!

Re: Freedom Trail Thursday

I see I'm starting the daily thread again today! I did my 1:1's in the Boston Public Garden this morning. The weather is perfect, sunny, breezy and mild. Later, I'm off to explore some of the old historic sites, including Paul Revere's house. What a great day and it sounds like you've had a super v...

Re: Freedom Trail Thursday

Had a really nice 8.5 km run last night at Runpub in pretty much perfect conditions. This morning was a half hour on the elliptical followed by some upper body weights and core work. I was tempted to run this morning - it was beautiful outside - but decided not to push my luck by trying three runs i...

Re: Soccer Wednesday!

This morning was 6 km on the indoor track followed by a bit of core work and upper body weights. I'm planning to show up at Runpub and run some TBD distance, unless it's raining. In which case I'd probably go to the gym and do some kind of workout. Have a good day, everyone. :)

Re: Tuesday in New England

Kind of muggy in the GTA this morning although at least there was some cloud cover during the first part of my run. 10+ km done on the roof track at the gym. On the weekend (Saturday) I ran 17 km outdoors. Knock wood, there has been no nerve pain in my foot, just some discomfort in my left heel, whi...

Re: Independence Friday

Happy Independence Day to all the Americans, and TGIF to everyone! I am in a fantastic mood because I ran 13 km this morning and my foot feels great. A little bit of discomfort during the run, especially at the beginning, but nothing like the previous pain, and no nerve pain. Fingers crossed that it...

Good morning! Gym day for me - 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by a bit of weights and stretching/core. I had to be in the office a little early so I'll try to finish the weights and core stuff at home tonight. It was beautiful running weather here first thing this morning, and I was sorry to ...

Wake up Wednesday indeed! I took a vacation day on Monday so gearing up for work this morning was challenging. OTOH, I have made a cautious return to running. Yesterday I ran 8 km easy on the indoor track, and this morning I ran 9 km easy, also on the indoor track. Between hesitation about getting ...

TGIF!!! I did 60 minutes on the elliptical this morning, which felt okay at the time, but then afterwards I could feel some pain in my heel. Not much, fortunately. So there is a good chance that I won't be running this weekend. Short term (mental) pain, long term (physical) gain. I may try to get to...

Re: WHAT, no Thursday thread as of yet?

Thanks, Jen. My ART guy identified it as a nerve issue, after I went to him for help with what I thought was Plantar Fasciitis. Either way, it's all about resting. At least I can still get cardio on the elliptical. It's not running but it's the next best thing.

Saw your Grouse time on FB - nice!

Re: WHAT, no Thursday thread as of yet?

Short version: I will not run, I will not run, I will not run... So, of course I want to run. But I got fooled before on this, so the smart thing to do is not run until at least the weekend. Or not for even longer, if the pain reappears. But it is SO hard to resist the urge to plan a run for tomorr...

Re: WHAT, no Thursday thread as of yet?

Short version: I will not run, I will not run, I will not run... Long version: the nerve pain that was so intense during my run on Tuesday, and that continued on and off into Tuesday evening, was not aggravated by the elliptical yesterday morning and was largely gone by yesterday afternoon. Yesterda...

I like the idea, because as Robin said, a 30 K race in September would be great prep for a Fall marathon. But that would be a tough race, for sure.

Re: Steamy Wednesday

Gym day for me: 50 minutes on the elliptical. It appears that the elliptical does not make the nerve pain in my foot any worse, which is good news, because it allows me to keep some cardio while I take a break from running. My current plan is no running until at least the end of the week. And possib...
