I enjoyed it the year I did it. More or less, but the less part was because I tried to go too fast for where I was at
I wasn't poisoned

Re: Jes inches closer to the 4hr mark
Fantastic work Jes! A lot of hard work, and it paid off. I say go for 3:55 next time (or 3:56, whatever 5:30 km's works out to). I bet you'll definitely break 4. Are you doing a fall race? I am in awe of how you a) have taken an hour off your time, and b) lost 15 pounds! I definitely would NOT have...

Yeah, that climb up into Rockliffe, and then the steep descents on tired/sore legs were killer...
Yep. I started to fade at 28km, and lost 5 min in the second half. Still, big fat PBs for both of us

Great race! Congratulations for sticking out the last 12k. +11min PB is huge
(btw, typo near the end..."I was about to break 4:44 and smash my personal best in the process." -- I think you mean 3:44?)

Crushfest! Congrats on a solid 4:05. You had a phenomenal training cycle and race. I'm super proud of you! C'mon, you're already a super hero so why not throw in some itty bitty classes into the mix this fall in preparation for Hamilton? Of all the people I know, you're probably the only person who...

Re: 2013 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
Just to clarify - the finish area in general was awesome this year. I love how they made it bigger, with lots of room to find your friends, relax, etc. It was specifically getting out that was the issue (for me). Mark - if there were plans in place to lift the barriers, that's great (and hearing tha...

Gotcha. This was my first time running at ORW and I noticed how cramped it was as well, but I just assumed it was always like that. I agree that if something were to occur, it would have been VERY difficult to try and manage the situation. No, it's never been that bad before. Granted, last year I f...

jes, if you don't mind me asking, what were the safety issues that you noticed? This is the comment I made on their wall yesterday. No response from the organizers yet. "After having a few days to reflect, I'm writing to express my concern about the recovery area and the sheer number of people...
