Re: Music While Running

As with many I'm all over the place, although there's Trapped under Ice and The Four Horsemen from Kill em All...as well as a few from Ride the Lightening, Black Album and One. There's only a few from Master of Puppets I like enough to run to. They're mostly for in the car. Ye who doesn't love Metal...

Funny, and great news. I was disappointed nobody was stepping up to be a title sponsor. Good on Scotiabank, I'm happy to see them step=up and support a great event for the city...that said being a Bluenoser its still the Bank of Nova Scotia to me...Scotiabank sounds so foreign.

This run sucked, badly. Some weird tightness in my calf and the footing was crap. I ended up going back home and doing half of what was planned... I hate winter. I'm with ya...today was my rant day about how much I hate living in Ottawa. I have a few of them each winter. I stormed in the door and t...

Re: Another snowy Saturday

19 hilly k in 2hr on snow shoe trails. My flight didn't land until 1am last night so it was a slow and very tired run. Glad I went, happier when it ended. I felt very jet lagged and worn down, and jet lagged isn't common for me.

I like the idea of a journal. I keep track of individual runs for our weekly meeting now, but not really a journal. Great idea, in my old age I could read it and say what were you thinking... :D

If I make it out of Vancouver airport without bird or pig flu, today will be a success. My God if one more person hacks a lung out at this gate we'll all have Ebola. This place is disgusting right now. Travel in winter....I know better than this. I may drink a bottle of multivitamins tonight.

23k at easy pace 2hrs worth of it. It was a good recovery from yesterdays 17k of hill repeats in that damn cold rain. Now off to Seattle for the week, be a change to run without snow. It actually forecasts nice (aka non rain) all week. I've never been to the NW with some sort of rain.

And if they're to far Gatineau is as nice as anywhere in the world to run in...and I'm not from here and travel a tonne so it says alot. Just camp up near Lac Phillips or Taylor. You can run for 100's of km just there. I agree 100%. For anyone outside the Ottawa area, Gatineau Park should be at the...

Re: Trail Running Getaway . . .

Actually for that matter if you don't want to cross the border (although I highly recommend Lake Placid), there's great running in Frontenac, as well as up near Tremblant I'm told. I plan on a few day trips to both leading into the Vermont 100. And if they're to far Gatineau is as nice as anywhere i...

Lake Placid...I have a trail map for the area I can show you. Lots of hotels/restaurants, and a few camp grounds. We go there 2X a year, camp nearby and quite like it...its like going back in time to 1980.

Thats awesome...I follow a blog by a guy named Kelly Agnew who won the 48hr, it sounds like a trip to be there. I know the Camelback area, and have stayed at the Marriott there. A great area for a race.

19.5 in 2hrs. Trail 71 counter clockwise, up trail 70 past Healy cabin to Cafferty cabin, then return. Trail 71 is crazy steep, I was pulling myself up by branches/trees what ever I could get my hands on. The up is hard, the down is insane, more of a pray I didn't slip on the packed snow/ice because...

10k hill repeats hard effort, with a hang over...that'll teach me to drink too much. Felt better afterwards, but feeling pretty tired now. 1/2 way through the 10 day X 10km easy/hard routine. Looking forward to a rest day, and some longer runs.

NMG...come join any weekend. The Gatz are fun...much better than the doldrums of the road. I consider the road barely a step up from the TM. dgrant...I have no idea where that area is, but am now interested. Could I get a good hr of running, snowshoes and no snowshoes there? I'm looking for anything...
