Holy smokes! This is HUGE! We are definitely going to have to do one of those group photos - you know, like the hockey teams do after they win a championship? We just need a trophy to gather around. Maybe Jo-Jo can bring C-Moss and we can put a RM shirt on C-Moss and gather around? She wouldn't be a "trophy"; more like a mascot...

Yeah it's going to be a massive gathering.

I am really looking forward to it. Oddly enough, there was not much interest in a M&G the night before the race last year. I am hoping we can have one this year.

Maybe we can co-ordinate something so we all get out to watch the Saturday night 10K runners, then hit some nearby spot for pasta. :?:

Or...

The 10K starts at 6:30, so maybe we could find a restaurant near the course for say 5pm, then file out to cheer on Claudie and Rob and the others after that. Just an idea to bat around...

I would also be up for this. I try to organize a family thing for after the half (the BF's family lives there) and we have a few other friends to visit, so a saturday thing would be GREAT for me.

Also running in the 10 K:
Boston marathon champ to run in Ottawa 10k Martin Cleary, The Ottawa Citizen Published: Wednesday, January 10, 2007
Four-time Boston Marathon women's champion Catherine Ndereba will make her Canadian race debut May 26, when she competes in the MDS Nordion 10-kilometre race during the 2007 Ottawa Race Weekend. Ndereba, the marathon gold medallist at the 2003 world championships and runner-up at the 2004 Summer Olympics, will be challenged by defending Nordion 10-kilometre champion Tatyana Hladyr of Ukraine. In their last meeting, Hladyr edged Ndereba for second place at the ING New York City Marathon with respective times of two hours, 26 minutes and five seconds to 2:26:58. Runner's World named the Kenyan resident its Road Runner of the Year in 1996, 1998 and 1999. Ndereba, 34, was the first female to run the marathon under 2:19, when she set a world best and African record of 2:18:47 at the 2001 Chicago Marathon. Ndereba won the Boston Marathon in 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005.

This was sent to me by big brother in Ottawa who will that day be doing his first 10 K in over 20 years, thanks to my encouragement! Maybe a NYC brother as well, he has just done two 4-5 mile races for the first time.
next up:

This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day
