It's going to change when you hit the underpass. That must be at least a twelve foot drop.

Sorry I won't be there this year.
Next Up in 2010:
April - 21K de Montreal
May - Cabot Trail Relay Race, Legs 6&7

Oh, Oh .... A Course Change !!!!

Course Update
In a nutshell, the marathon route uses the northernmost lane of the south span, then follows that lane onto the exit ramp to Pembina Hwy. This exit ramp is closed to vehicular traffic during the race and police will be on site at that location.

there's a climb in Manitoba Marathon now ???  :? :?

Question ... I already have a reservation at the Holiday Inn and now on the Manitoba Marathon website, they have a second Host Hotel available at Hampton Inn & Suites Winnipeg-Manitoba ... same price point ...

Should I change hotels or stick with the Holiday Inn Express ??

Are you currently at the Holiday Inn Express on Pembina & McGillvary? If so, keep that reservation as you can grab a park & ride across the street.

Andy
Keep the Holiday Inn , it is easier to get to the start/finish . The Hampton is on Main Street, downtown close to the Marathon Office.
See you soon. Stop by the Run Manitoba booth at the Expo, that's where I'll be hanging out, till the Meet and Greet......

A starting temp around 10-12 degrees doesn't sound too bad to me. I'd be quite happy with that! Cloud cover would be good too.

For all lurking in this thread...Meet and Greet threads have been started so visit them and sign up for the numerous events/celebrations going on over the MB Marathon weekend.

We haven't usually set up a 'drink stand' because so many of us are usually running in the event. There was a guy just before mile 23 last year handing out adult beverages...watch for him. I'm sure he'll be back this year.

I'm gonna be so scr@wed, as I've only run in single, low-double digit weather so far this year, sans the Ottawa ING 1/2 and, it's been wet and cold all week here in Ottawa:?

yikes !!!!!

Why even be concerned at this point? We all have zero control over the weather. They can't predict the weather for tomorrow correctly let alone almost two weeks out. Heck, three different sources have three different forecasts for TODAY!

You also realize we are running at 7am.....it won't be 28 degrees at 7am.

I have an idea....show up and run to the best of your ability given the conditions of the day, then drink some beer and celebrate.

Say it again Sista!!!

Seriously Andy, the weather here is SO unpredictable, you're going to worry yourself silly by checking it. Do I have to make a call and have the weather sites blocked at your work? :-) Or, and don't make me pull out the big guns, lock your account if you post a forecast again ;-) ;-)

Andy knows the weather is unpredictable. It's just one of the distraction games he likes to play leading up to his marathons. ;)

Expect an update every day till June 15. :)

How are you guys even getting a forecast this far in advanced? There are 11 days left :P thats more than twice the 5 day future forecast ;)

My guess is accuweather.com.

That said, I bet Andy actually pays for a 30 day weather forecast service. If he could buy stock in environment canada he would!
