White Sunday

Postby HCcD » Sun Mar 09, 2008 5:38 am

Happy Daylight Savings Time, Maniacs .... Hard to believe that it is Spring Forward with the clocks after this crzay winter wunderland, eh!!!

Gonna skip the Sunday morning long run with the 10K Clinic, as the roads have yet to be cleared (at least my street) and, doubt the usual side roads are, as well ... :?

Will probably just clear the driveway, go for a long ride on the CT and perhaps venture out later this afternoon to the Club, if and when the conditions out there improve ....

Take care and be safe out there today on them roads ....and, happy digging ....

6:41 = 5:41

And I'm off on an hour long drive to Birds Hill Park to run my 22k . I wanted to incorporate some slightly hillier terrain - actually anything with a speed bump is hillier than the roads around home.

I will hopefully see Dwayne out there somewhere.

Have a good one everybody - catch you when I get back.

Not sure how I will get my long run in today. I'll try later in the afternoon. Right now need to dig out the house to take the kids swimming.

Later, Raptors game. Hopefully they can get their mental on!!

Have a great day.

Now I'm super pissed at myself cause I should have gotten up at 7:30 to finish another day of thesis-writing....

Grrr anyhow going to walk the Dude and get back into this.

Other than more shovelling I might try to get in an easy run around town this afternoon or yet another run on the treadmill.

I am not sure if I'll run today. I have to do a fair amount of shovelling first.

I know how you feel Sonia! I'm in the same boat! I feel like I lost half a day, instead of just an hour!

I'm going to try it outside... don't know how bad the roads are, but they're usually pretty good, once I get a mile down the gravel road. I think I'll go by time, not distance today. so... 3:15, or so...

Have a great day all!

So jealous! Glad to hear you made it out of here yesterday. There were a lot of flight cancellations later in the day. Citizen website had articles about people waiting, and being told that the earliest they would get out would be Tuesday!

Eldest is supposed to have a riding lesson this morning. It isn't going to happen. Streets haven't been plowed... and probably won't be for a while.

I'll run on the treadmill later today... I think...

Holy WHITE indeed. Our two springy dogs woke me up at dawn, wanting to go outside NOW!!!! When I look out the patio doors to the back yard the snow is higher than our deck (and our deck is a metre off the ground). I can't see any sign of the stairs at all (and we had shoveled before bed). I had to go out and clear a path across the deck, unbury the stairs (never did find the bottom one), then dig a path into the yard and clear a "spot" for the dogs BEFORE letting them out of the house. By the time I opened the door for them they were so excited they flew down the stairs and leaped liked gazelles through the deep snow ... and didn't bother with my "path" at all, LOL!

And so the shoveling continues..........
I may be too tired to exercise today. :D Have a good one everybody.
Good luck to those who are running outdoors today.

Holy snow batman!

I should run today but my calves are killing me and when I looked outside people are walking on the street since the sidewalks are missing.

I'll wait until later to see if the plows come by or maybe it's a trip to the gym for a run and swim.

Sonia, good luck on the thesis writing!

Off to the gymbo... Had 27 km on the schedule, but between my ongoing foot issues and the #$@#ing snow, I've changed it up... 3 hours of keeping my heart rate up - I'm going to see how long I can last on the treadmill, then I might just sit on a bike for an hour or two.

In any case, it's about to be a long morning!

Anners - you're my hero!
Next?

It is a stay at home kind of day with lots of shovelling involved. Here are a couple pics at my house. Tanner's snow fence is buried (so I have to make sure he doesn't escape the yard) and our BBQ is the big bump on the right. The other picture is out my front door. The snowbank is well over 10 feet tall and we can't get any more snow on the top as it is causing avalanches on the driveway.

Mine too...cept it's too bad her brain is dead now. RIP Brain

I have to shovel before I can get the car out of the driveway to go to the gym.
I started shovelling and gave up...came inside for a coffee break.

Argh! I"m still procrastinating.

I have no one to go snow shoeing with yet, Sanders is gone for who knows how long.

I think I'm going to go into braindead automaton mode and just do something.

The suspense is killing me! :?

slept in which was def.! needed.

going to think about going to the Bike show and seeing a friend for her bday that I could not yesterday and then on the TM for sure...I think...for sure

ETA: no bike show - same stupid reason as yesterday - no run as still on the antibiotics so I did a Jillian Michaels DVD instead - dr said strength workouts are ok and to listen to my body - I did - took a few rest breaks during the 30 mins DVD

I did 12km on the treadmill this morning, and that just about did me in! I think it's just about time for some more shoveling...
