Better Late Than Never!! Welcome Cathy!!!
Somehow, Cathy from our trail running group snuck in here as a member about a month ago, without me even noticing!! So, even though it is late, I just wanted to welcome Cathy!! We have gotten to know each other a bit the last few times we have been running the trails and she is a great person and a darned good runner too! And she's going to the Wolfe too!!

Oops -- maybe I should have put this under NRR. If the moderator wants to change it, that is ok with me!

It's northwest of Trenton, Dawn -- does that tell you anything? Actually it is between Trenton and Brighton - north of them, but not that far north.

Trenton is the star on this map. Wooler is north of the 401 to the north and west. So much for the geography lesson!
Yes, Jo-Jo that is the same Cathy. I believe Dave may send you another shirt too that I ordered for my other friend Petra. I don't know if she even lurks on here, but she just loved the shirt and wanted one. I don't know why Cathy is getting hers from you, but if I am not around, can you give it to her to give to me?
I met Cathy through our trail running group -- Cathy loves to enter races! Cathy, Heather and I (and a few other people) will all be coming the Resolution Run on Dec 31.
Last year at Wolfe Island, I didn't know Cathy -- even though she was there. I am glad that I got introduced to her at Sandy's store and through trail running! I am trying to convince her to do Run for the Toad next fall!

Jane and Cathy:
My grandpa was born and raised in Frankford! I spent a week in Trenton and Frankford a few years ago with him touring around to see the area and catch up with some distant relatives.
In looking at the map, Jane, I see *two* Brightons. Is that right? We went to Brighton for a festival/parade, but I can't believe there are two so close together. Please enlighten me!
(And welcome, Cathy!)

Haha -- I noticed that too. I think it must be a "mapquest" problem. I don't think they are always accurate on some of our Canadian locations. There is only ONE Brighton. And it is south of the 401. Not north. I couldn't get Mapquest to find Wooler either. I wanted to do a search which would highlight Wooler, but it kept saying it didn't exist. So I had to search on Trenton.
Well, if you ever get back to this area, Jennifer, you will definitely have to come out running with us!

My grandpa passed away earlier this year, and his only sister lives in Victoria, so I probably won't be out there much. There isn't a lot of family left there. However, my bro-in-law is being posted to Toronto (or near there - not sure where the Air Force base is) in January. I expect we'll be visiting in the summer or fall, and since my hubby has never been out East, we'll no doubt take a road trip, including a drive out to the house my grandpa was born in (if I can remember how to get there). If so, I'll make a point of arranging to meet everyone I can! I actually thought I'd try and schedule a trip around Wolfe Island this summer, but it's the same day as the GWN Half Ironman, so that's out this time.

That is too bad about your grandfather, Jennifer.
So your BIL is posted to the base (or what is left of it) in Toronto? There is also a couple of other places there - the Staff College and the Headquarters for Land Forces (Army) Central Area. Where is your BIL posted now?
That would be great if you made it down to this area!

Thanks Jane! Down toward Toronto more, I see. I passed through Ottawa this spring, but we were running out of money and time and didn't get down to T.O. Would have liked to have seen the falls, too, but I guess that'll be another trip...
