Good Luck at the swim meet Blanken and please report back!
Warmer today than it has been which is great!
Just dropped DS at work and vacillating whether I do my long run on the treadmill or outdoors. I think I need some more coffee before I decide.

AAARRRGH.

I checked accuweather's hourly forecast before going to bed last night. It said that it would be -25 with a -36 windchill this morning.

I spent the whole night tossing and turning, being scared of my run this morning. (I even dreamt that Rick called everyone and said that it was too dangerous to run outside!).

Delilah was also up more than usual last night.

So, I'm skipping the run part of hammartime right now and going to the spin part.

I just checked the weather - it's not freezing out!! It's only -15/-22. I can run in that.

I'm thinking that I screwed up and sometimes when you check the hourly forecast for the next day, it shows you the day you are on instead, which would make sense, since it was -stupid yesterday.

I feel like an idiot now for missing my run.

Maybe I'll see if I can go later today.
i run for me.

I hear ya Kiza. I did the same thing.

This morning was my first club run with the marathon clinic and I bailed because the cold....... that and the fact that I really hate early morning runs.

I sit here now enjoying my hot coffee and digesting my delicious blueberry pancakes that I will burn off later.

While I'm here might as well post what I've been up to.....

I joined the RR marathon clinic this week as I am hoping it will help motivate me to get out the door or on the TM.

Yesterday, I swam 600m (!!!!), spun for about 25 minutes and weight trained for 30. I will get at least a 10 km run in today and perhaps a bit of time of the trainer.

I have a couple of races to register for today and hopefully will post my journal later on today.

Have a great one all! :D

I ran 15 yesterday and in theory today should be a rest day, but I might try to jam in some interval work later today.

Yay Sherry! Way to rock out a workout and get focused on the future. 8)

I totally slept late this morning, wow. My knee is stiff from running yesterday so today will be easy. The one thing I'd like to do is cycle, but I think that would totally aggravate it. Too lazy to go to a pool so not sure what I'll do today... maybe yoga and stretching.

I am so glad I am not marathon training or racing today, my head is just not in it.

Off to get groceries..

5.7K done in the cccoooold... -25 with wind chill this morning. Did a fast (for me) 3.7K with the front group of the 5K clinic. It's been a long time since I've run sub 7 minute K's, lets hope the downward trend continues! 8)

Tonight, 2000M continuous swim in the long course pool.

Stay warm & safe out there today! :D

Going for my long run after lunch. I'm so glad it not as cold as it was yesterday (supposed to be -11 by afternoon). I woke up late, the furbabies let me sleep in! Good luck Blanken and Magoo! :D

Frigid temps here on the prairies, - 28 with windchill warning to -40

Funny, I'm not quite as depressed about not being able to go for a run today as I was last week when it was -5

It's taking a bit to get used to the knee brace but it's looking like I'll be able to at least hit the bike in another few days :D :D :D

So.... more strength & core training today - then it's off to my parents.

Another 5K on the hamstermill this morning, then lower body workout ... Still feeling some achilles tenderness, but appears to get better as I warmup ... Amazing how much fitness I've lost over the past couple of weeks .. :? Off to another shift this afternoon .....

Cleaning and culling today. Time to be merciless. Since we have a new bedroom set coming in a few weeks, we have to find a place to relocate the current furniture we are using...therefore we need to get rid of the junk we've been ignoring for a while.

After that, I'll head to the pool for a while...and probably a run on the tm...depending on how I'm feeling...as I'm fighting the onset of a UTI.

Just getting ready to head out for my 130 minutes lsd. Looks like a beautiful sunny day for a run, I'd add "cold" in there but compared to the rest of Canada it doesn't really appear to be cold. ;)

Good Morning.

Just in from a 25K LSD in the cold, but not unbearable temps. Secret was staying out of the wind. It actually felt really good! For the most part, the footing was good.

Best part is that my legs were great, I was just running low on fuel. Any further, and I would have needed something.

Yikes! What a contrast to last Sunday!!!

I had planned a 18-20 km LSD with my two new running partners, Michelle and Brenda. Upon arriving at the RR, we arrived at a consensus. We would run 12 km with the marathon clinic group, which included my numero uno running pal- BumbleG. Thus we ran 12 km at a bit faster a pace than usual. I followed that up with a 2 km walk and called it a day. Actually I called it many names!

Take care folks!!

1h run in High Park nice and easy in another glorious sunny winter day. I saw a lot of people walking their dogs, but not too many runners.
I run because it's fun.

2600m done, despite having about 8 people crammed in to two lanes for the first half of my swim.

Stop at Starbucks on the way home - they had yummy Red Velvet cupcakes, so I had to get one, yummy!
