Sunday already

Postby JacSprat » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:11 pm

It's officially Sunday in NS :D Just back from my kayak group meeting where we discussed the where and when of trips this year. All I can say is....roll on spring :!:

I have an LSD planned for today. Hoping the freezing rain, ice pellets, and snow flurries don't mess up the road

Guess I'll go to bed soon. Have a good Sunday everyone :D

Yep. Sunday already. Nuit Blanche is done for me (so not a true nuit blanche!)

Going to bed for about 6.5 hours before I get up to run about 16 - 20km with a fellow runner.

Good luck to all of today's racers (although they may already running).

Rest day for me - legs feeling pretty good after yesterday.

21 days to go to race day!
2009 Highlights
Marathon - 2:54:05 (Mar 22 - Tokyo)
Half - 1:20:00 (Apr 26 - Hartwell)
5k - 17:09 (Acura 5k - Jul 19)
800m - 2:16.80 (York U - Jul 28 )
Now - Getting back my running fitness
My training log

Why practice running slow? It comes naturally!

"There are two types of injuries that we older runners get: those that we can run with and those that we can't. And if you're over 30 and don't have one or the other, you aren't training hard enough." - Younger Legs blog

One more coffee and then I'm heading to Gatineau Park to snowshoe the Wolf Trail.

Sewing and the AR will fill the rest of the day.

Good luck La and to those doing their long runs today. Enjoy the day!

RABBITS RABBITS

One of the toughest in a while - nothing left in my tank.

24km with 15km at MP - Total time was 1:53:10 for a 4:43/km avg. 15km were at 4:30/km - nailed most of it pretty good, but it did almost kill me.

Off to DD's band festival performance

21K LSD today. Not sure how it's going to go as I have not run since last Sunday. I'm still a bit congested but pretty sure I'll be able to breathe today.

Happy MARCH everybody.

Ccccoooold this morning, but the SUN makes it all worthwhile! 8)

A nice 6.7K run this morning, all bundled up but loving the clear, dry pavement along the way!

Getting ready to put some ribs in the crock pot, then off to a baby shower for my training buddy's daughter this afternoon.

But, I will patiently be awaiting Chilly Half and Wild Bachelorette stories today

LSD starting soon, but it's still -24 out so I'm not too sure if there will be anyone else.

Good stuff. 4:30/K sounds pretty brisk... does this have anything to do with NY?

Nope - just a stoopid aggressive goal for Boston. Training like I want to race it, not how I think I'll race it and then let the chips fall...

NY I am waiting until 2010 for no matter what. This fall's calendar is already booked up.

But if you hold a 4:30/K pace in Boston, you'll have a guaranteed spot in NY for 2010 (I can't remember if your half time was fast enough otherwise.) Good luck to you... it's fun to try a tough pace every so often and if anyone can pull off a sensational April marathon it's you.

Abour 4 - 6 inches of snow yesterday (a lot for this area) so no running out side today. About 15.5km on the treadmill doing the Tahoe Rim. A quick cool down and head out to shovel the driveway.

Have a great day everyone.

Just had to run short one - 5km - but pushed myself (or rather my husband pushed me!) to run outside. It was really worth the effort. The sun was shining - the wind was a bit cool when I was running north - but didn't someone say spring was on the way.....
