Troublesome Thursday

Postby Mouse » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:21 am

Having trouble sleeping again. I have been affected by three deaths this week. 1. Fellow Official, 2. Bosses Mother in law, and 3. A client.
My brain seems to keep spinning, and I can't seem to sleep.
I feel that I've had so many bad thiings happen lately that it is all starting to pull me down. One of Winnipegs fellow runners lost his house to a fire, my niece ended up in the hospital with a burst appendix, three deaths in one week. I need to hear a good news story, Won't you please share with me......
Have a great day everyone. Off to try and sleep... Here's hoping it works for me this time.

I'm sorry to hear that Mouse...hang in there!

I, too, haven't been able to sleep the past couple nights. I'm a walking zombie. The good news is Scotty is coming home today and his course is finished so he has most of today off, and tomorrow off. So I'll be quickly putting him to work in the house moving out all our clutter and storage stuff to a friend's garage. The realtor comes for a walk through on Sunday.

Sorry to hear about all the bad news in your life.

Yesterday, speedwork had to be cut short--my legs and my lungs are not ready to do 800m repeats at 4:15min/k pace yet. I took a bit of a break and finish with about 22 min at tempo pace (around 4:40min/k) with a 2 min break in the middle. The second part being faster than the first. I will step down from speed work in the next few weeks to make sure can run 25-30min straight at tempo pace.

Today, it will likely be 10-11k after work.
I run because it's fun.

So sorry to hear that Mouse...when it rains, it pours...wish I had a good news story to share with you today.

4 x 1-mile repeats last night, so no running for me today. Slept in, so no cross training either. Ah well.

Mouse, sorry to hear. I don't have any excitingly good news to share, but I also don't have any bad. So, that in itself is good news.

Since yesterday's planned evening run didn't happen and stressed me out all day, I made sure I got my workout in early. 30 minutes on the treadmill, then 25 minutes in the pool. Now, the struggle to keep my eyes open through another 11 hour day.... That's a workout on its own.

Long run day today! I woke up early for it since the rain is only supposed to hold off until 11--so in about 40 minutes I'll head out to Umstead state park for 14 miles on the bridle trails. Should be fun, and less wet than last week, which will be nice!

Then writing the paper I failed to write yesterday. Class and the E.R. Series finale tonight

Core, strength and a spin on my bike planned for this evening.

Last night's run went OK. I haven't downloaded my stats from Garmie yet, but from what I remember, I ran 5.8K in about 35 minutes (5:58/km pace). I did an out-and-back and had a negative split (my first 2K were around 6:10/km).

My knee is sore, though. :(

Sorry to hear about your losses Mouse and all the other stressful events going on. I can sympathize as I too have been through a rough period this last month. All I can say is keep your chin up, lean on family/friends and try to enjoy even the smallest things each day.

another rest day for me post ATB....however I have had some nice long walks with the family and Jasper and have had fun playing ball with him in the backyard

Hugs to Mouse. "wow crazy day!" to Blanken. And "have fun at the concert!" to Trixiee.

Yesterday was long and tiring and I went to bed too late, so I'm really glad to have a "rest day" today.

Well, except for my FIRST SPRING ULTIMATE GAME tonight at 22h! I'm going to come home and take a nap, first! :D Feels like forever since I've thrown a disc and my legs are tired so this should be interesting...

So sorry about all of the nasty stuff going on Mouse. I hope things look up soon! It is April, and it is spring :D

I had a terrible run this morning. Only 6K, and I had to pack it in. My stomach has been giving me troubles all week! Dang and it was so nice out too! I hate when that happens.

Good news is that my BIL is coming home today from 2 years of working in Shanghai, so my sister's family will be reunited!
