I am registered for the half but will be cheering BumbleG and TequilaSheila if I haven't recovered sufficiently from the Marine Corp Marathon of the previous Sunday. :D

I will have to asses my physical condition after running the Badlife Toronto Marathon on October 18 and the Ajax 1/2 Marathon on October 25, before I decide to run the full in Hamilton.
I am in love with the President of Argentina .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhf5iInIWEs mamacita preciosa
and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIZ39iEw80M. She is 63 is 2016.... meaning 10 years older than I. I guess I'm into mature girls .....

I'm in for the full, my only one this year
So I guess we will see some of you there
Do all the good you are able to-
Any time you are able
Every way you are able
Every where you are able
For everyone you can...
Until you are able to again

Thanks for asking...it's up and down. Of course the first week I ran, but was still sore from the race effort. I did manage a 29K on Saturday but was pretty wiped by the end, so I am not sure what to think.

How about you? Are you recovering well?

I have to side with Kinga. 6 hour Horror Hill for me that weekend. I just ran the CanLake 50 (km) this past weekend in Finger Lakes and I love the Ultra / trail run atmosphere.

You're doing pretty good if you got through 29k and I'm not surprised you would feel wiped out doing a 29k two weeks after your Scotiabank efforts. I feel great at times but have only gone as long as 12k. I was very stupid and raced 10k the first weekend after Scotiabank (although I pushed myself only during the last 5k) and have gone through a rotation of near injuries - tight hamstring, ITB issues with left leg, now slight ITB twinges in right leg. I've been foam rolling religiously and luckily everything seems to be resolving quickly.

The main thing I am worried about is not being able to finish Hamilton and trying to make my way to my car at the finish line (especially if it is cold). Hopefully they will have some sort of pickup from the water stations for injured runners.

Not sure if they're still using e-Load at the fluid stations. For those who can't take e-Load, you might want to bring your own Gatorade. I walked the full marathon 2 years ago and was confused when I tasted the "salty water". Fortunately, no side-effects.

:D See you at Horror Hill! I'm looking forward to running around in that forest.
As for Hamilton Marathon, I haven't fully decided if I want to run it the next day. If the weather is nice I could be persuaded to run it. I don't miss a cold windy finish by the waterfront. We'll see...

 I can pretend a long race is shorter, but I can't pretend a half is 30k. Does not compute.
I'll see how I'm feeling next week. My legs are a bit beat up after yesterday.

Here is the first glimpse of race weather from Accuweather:

Periods of sleet and freezing rain in the morning; low clouds. Winds from the NW at 14 .

Yikes.

weather network now shows sunny and high of 9. :) accuweather has same forecast but winds now from SSE at 16km - that's a pretty strong headwind for pretty much the entire course. :(

Thanks for the update. But isn't the course starting in the south and ending 8K north of the start point, so a wind from the south would be at our backs?

Yup its the good wind of the south
next up:

This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

but aren't we running eastward? i guess the course map on the race site is confusing me - i am directionally challenged - just ask my wife

anyway, now the forecast is wind from the north. i guess this is going to change every day so no use looking at weather until the night before, i guess.

The current forecast is for pleasant weather except for the 35KM/hr wind from the West.

The route runs a total of:

5KMs East
9 KMs West (from 5K to 14K)
19 KMs North (slight NE/ slight NW at times)
6 KMs South East
3 KMs South

The heavy wind along with some rain will last from Friday to Sunday but with any luck, the perfect weather on the Monday / Tuesday will push up a day and make for perfect marathoning conditions.

Aside from that, I'm not over-thinking it much.
It's never too early to taper or to carbo load !
