I am doing the Edmonton version on New Year's Day. Anyone else running, or are you all working on your post race season weight gain?

I'll be running in Mississauga with my sister on New Year's Eve - I couldn't convince her to do the one on New Year's Day.

I wanted to do this one. But I'll be at the LA airport while the Halifax one is on.

I am doing it in Moncton, N.B. We are leaving this Thursday for the down east trek...I am so excited. It will be the first time that my sister and I get to run together in a "race". It will be her first 5K.

I started last year with it - and it's been a pretty good year :D - so heck yeah, I'll be there again Jan 1/06

Nope. Opting for the 9K Hair of the Dog on New Year's Day instead. Will probably ride my bike that morning.

I ran the Edmonton one this year, and it was a nice event with the pancakes and the motivational talk from "the John" himself. I could have done without the -32 though :? But I'm a material girl and just don't need a watch, so I'm going to stay home in bed this year.

hmmm. anyone know of any good routes near LAX??? I'll be burning off my excess energy bouncing around. I love airports! Though, LA airport for an 8 hour layover may be a bit much...

Ditto for Hair of the Dog - what a great way to usher in a New Year.

I'm doing Calgary as well - that's amazing that it's sold out. It wasn't that long ago that it was a relatively small number of fanatics trying to explain to our families our "new" new years eve plans.

Running Angel - if you're near LAX I recommend hiding under a bed or desk. I've spend time in some hotels near the airport and it was one of the scarier places I think I've ever been.

Nope .... not crazy about driving to downtown Ottawa on New Year's Eve on a Saturday along with 900 others to run on a dark stricken path ... Too many memories of this year's Hypothermic Half ....

Okay, that settles it, I'll get off my Boston flight, go to the Quantas counter, then go back through security as fast as possible! yikes! i won't leave the airport.
