I thought that they were travelling all across the United States to find the perfect site ... and, hear that racing across the Golden Gate Bridge was on their short list .. and, as usual, it will be Free, including travel and accomodations ... :shifty:

Haha... funny you should mention that, we were just discussing it yesterday. Date is TBA (sometime in November to take advantage of everyone's training for other fall races), but it's going to be a never-before-seen racing format. We hurt you because we love you.

Also, and more importantly, it's going to be a cross-Canada affair with concurrent events in several cities. If anyone is interested in being the local organizer for your city, send me a message. All you really need to do is find a good racecourse (as flat as possible, no road crossings and minimal interaction with other users, 2km in distance), create local hype and be the contact person for questions and answers, and probably shell out 20 or 30 bucks for supplies... sidewalk chalk, safety pins, drinking cups, etc.

As always, no money down, no interest, no payments forever. FREE RACING.

There you go, we already have volunteers for Halifax and Winnipeg.

It's on like Voltron.

I'd love to do this, but I'm not sure I want to compete with some already exisiting races here in November....

One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

We have the Haney to Harrison relay on Nov 7, and then the Fall Classic (Half, 10K, 5K) is the next week-- both very popular.

I supposed we could do something in one of the next two weeks, but I'm out for Nov 28/29 (and that's also Seattle Marathon).

... but, there ARE lots of places where we could find a 2K stretch of seawall to do it. :) I just can't volunteer to organize it.

Yep, loop or out-and-back both work. Preferably paved or hard-packed gravel, and flat. The goal will be to have comparable courses so that times in Vancouver can be put head-to-head with times in Halifax, etcetera. (Weather of course is a variable that we can't do much about, but there's a scorekeeping twist to this event that means that raw speed isn't the main criteria for winning.)

So... make it either the weekend of November 1 or November 21. :) Actually November 14/15 would be ok, too.

In tbe Kanata/Stittsville area, we have a great gravel path, ie. Trans-Canada Trail :P

Will every location be held at the same time or time zone adjusted (kinda like time shifting on your cable tv digital box) ?? :?

Great! So far we have interested organizers in VAN, WIN, OTT, TOR, and HFX.

it really depends on the weekend - we can totally organize on Nov 7/8 or Nov 21/22

I assume you are organizing it for the 22nd - since it will be a big birthday celebration for me, right?! ;)
