Great news Holly!

For me, just a short 30 minute run on the TM at some point today.

Other than that, DH's birthday dinner - home made lasagna, black forest cake (not home made but very yummy). Need to make up the food and clean up the house first though!

Have a great day everyone,

What a PERFECT fall day - just gorgeous out! An easy 50-something minutes around the neighbourhood, enjoying the fall colours and the blue sky.

Gotta run. Just reporting in that I had a nice long run for 14km @ 5:14 for 1:13:20. Not sure if that pace is right but if so, I was going to fast. Nice day for a run. Election voting today, hockey game exibition, driving to the east end of montreal, maybe get some stuff at MEC then back home to do some more homework with the kids.

Where did the weekend go?!

Hope you're feeling better Dr S :(
You too Trix :(
And anyone else who's sick or feeling under the weather.

It's really nice here now so I went for a run along the rail trail down at the beach. I'm going to try to incorporate an LSD into my weekend schedule again, starting with what turned out to be 8.5km today. And dh came along and did some walking so that was nice :D

Good luck to everyone racing today and congrats on soon becoming an auntie.

I had planned a rest day after racing yesterday but it was so nice out while raking leaves that I decided to do an easy 6.5 km loop around here. Beautiful day for running but my shin was still tight, as it has been for about the last week. It's been getting a bit worse on each run so I guess it's time to google some stretches for it.

thanks everyone for the congrats. We are all very excited. :)

I'm SO glad I decided to run yesterday instead of today as I am WIPED and my hip is sore from the long walk to work and back. Going to spend the rest of the day napping and working on my nano. :)

Ya, I may breakmy 100 challenge today. I just don't want to do anything. I don't want to leave my apartment. Pizza is ordered, I'm making chili later. Hmm. We'll see. Maybe 20 minutes of wii boxing later. Or a walk. But, seriously, I don't care enough about the challenge to attempt it.

33K LSD. It's kind of silly that my summer racing schedule depleted my base enough that I have to ease into rebuilding it.

An easy 10km at long run turned out into a race with my friend Zach. He killed me so much, and it wasn't to difficult for him. He easily could've ran into the 37's. Anyways did 10.2km in 39:34, and the first 3km was so much slower, average pace was 3:52 8) There goes my tempo tomorrow..

Biking 50k and 1:20 with the trail group from P7 doing a loop through Camp Fortune on the interesting trails. Dave's surprise had us finding ourselves at the 1 hour point tricked into 30 minutes of introductory biathlon shooting. 20 people (most but not everyone) scribbling out disclaimers then firing off 4 or 5 sets of 5 with mostly air rifles but 22 was also available, running a hard short loop between sets. A variety of good running flavours on the way back, then biking home through the park on roads closed to traffic.

2hrs of suffering with the DH and Farmgirl's DH at Westside today.

first 30min spin was single legs/some high cad work
15min of hills/speed run/core
next 30min spin was mainly high cad work
same 15min set of run/core
last 30min spin of high gear grinders

good, sweaty, spent.

congrats Holly on your news! and congrats to those who ran NYC and to the Angus Glen runners (happy to get a text from La today too!)

oh, and I'm loving the extra hour!!

Got out for an abbrieviated LSD of 10km. I was hoping to do 15km at least but I've been battling through hip flexor pain. Think it's just a strain. Had the same thing in the spring on the left side. Anyways, I was playing with my stride to see if it had anything to do with these recurring injuries. Really concentrated on lifting my heels and exagerating my knee lift and found it much more efficient and less taxing on my hip flexor. Gonna work on this going forward because maybe this will help cure this issue once and for all. Now if I could only get rid of ITBS :)

Anyways, what a great day to run. Even wore shorts.

Hmph. I think I'm getting tired of being proven wrong. I hit the pace, maintained it, and even averaged a little too fast, with a negative split.

Beautiful day for a run on the Seawall... though the crowds of people made it a bit challenging at times!

It was a great weekend for running in Vancouver.
