OK... I'm out. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body. And mine is saying, "Pyjamas are a good thing this morning."

Have a fabulous Resolution Run, gals. Bundle up and have fun!

Edit: Current temperature is -33 with a WC of -46. It's balaclava time again.

I'll get out there for a short one later today. First up though...time to make pancakes!

Happy New Year!

Today is supposed to be a rest day. I don't like taking Jan 1 as a rest day! I want to run! But yesterday my arch started bothering me on my run. I think it's from running outside in the snow and the weird footing. So I will rest today. Tomorrow is LSD day. We have a storm coming tonight/tomorrow so not sure how that's going to work out!

10 people for dinner tonight. I'm doing a ham, scalloped potato, turnip, carrots etc. Dessert is simple - sundae bar.

I love New Year's Day. A whole year of possibility waiting ahead of you. I always imagine that THIS year I WILL get super buff, become Zen-like in my non-reactivity, and win the Noble Peace Prize. Of course, that's all out the window by about 4 pm! :)

Great resolution run last night. I planned on doing two loops of the 3.6 km course but decided to do one loop at full speed instead (the -22 with -33 WC factored into that). 16:06 for a 4:27 pace (pretty good considering the conditions).

Got to hang out with Hammie for a while and then watch her finish, also got to see a coworker run her very first race.

Today, supposed to be warmer, I'll do an easy hour in Fish Creek Park.

Day 1 of my new life.....well, my new focus in life. More on that later.

5 km on some pretty nasty side walks - felt like I was wearing moon boots!! I'm up to 5 min intervals which I would like think that considering today's exertion would be equivalent to at least 8 or 9 mins. I will try that time tomorrow on some hopefully cleared sidewalks.

Out to M&D for another Turkey and lasagna dinner and Christmas with my brother and family.

Enjoy the first day of 2010!!

Happy New Year!

On my way out the door for a 10k Resolution Run. My 2010 goal is to run sub-60. I already met my 2010 5k goal a day early. Will I achieve my 10k goal on day 1 of the year?

Eventually, I'm going to go out for a 50 minute run... then spend some time making some goals for the year. Until then, coffee drinking and soup making. :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!

good race result Mike - sweet pace!

yesterday - Dave and I headed to the Y and got a 60min run done on the treadmill done in the afternoon - then we spent the evening at our friend's place and rang in the New Year on Saskatchewan time zone at 11pm - were home and in bed by midnight.

I think I may have lost my ipod (or left it at his sister's place in Regina, which I might as well say that it's been lost) grr.

Today's plan - a little tri of sorts planned at the Y - 30 min swim, 30min bike, and then 30min run.
Race Hard. Race Happy.

Well back home safe and sound, where it is WARM. The run went much better than I expected. Ran with two ladies from the clinic I instructed. My time was about 34:20 (what it said on big clock). It did take awhile to get to the start thou. Doesn't matter. Had FUN.... Didn't freeze, and ran the whole 5K...... Didn't take water, made sure to drink lots before. I went straight to the water fountain when we got back inside. Everything is good. My legs felt heavy, I think that is because I had 4 layers on. Long underwear, Sugoi tights, Running Room tights, and an outer wind shell layer. On the top long underwear, a Running Room 1/4 zip Polar fleece, Nike Micro Hoodie, and a Nike Windproff jacket. On my head balclava, and fleece jester hat. Fleece scarf wrapped around my neck. Fleece cuffed mittens on my hands. Smart wool socks, and a pair of Thorlo's on top . Ran in New Balance shoes.
I'm very pleased with myself and am glad I started the New Year off on the right foot. Yes pun intended....
Carry on.

Nice run Mouse, you're one tough lady.

Wind chill warning here as well, so will wait a while before trying to head out.

Worked the Resolution Run here this morning, very happy for my Gortex winter kit while I was course marshalling :D.

Will hope on the bike trainer in a little bit and possibly a run later, if I can find somewhere open that has a treadmill (Base gym is closed). I have no desire to bundle up to run today - it is freaking cold out!
