Goofy Saturday - Part 1

Postby HCcD » Sat Jan 09, 2010 3:55 am

Hey Maniacs,

It's almost 4am and no one has started the daily thread yet ?? :P All nice and comfy inside the Race Retreat .. about -3C with the windchill here this morning in balmy Disney World ... Expect to go up to about +4C as today's High ... Hopefully, will be about 0C by the end of the 1/2, that starts in about an hour and 40 minutes or so .... Sure hope the showers/freezing rain ignores us ..

Catch you all on the flip side ... :P

Have a great run Andy! Can't wait to read your report.

My LSD this weekend is only 6k so I am debating whether I do it today or tomorrow.

My LSD today is 14km today and I woke up to snow on the ground. Not sure if I can do this. I wish I had some yaktracks!
Have a good day everyone!
Enjoy Goofy Andy :D

I'm up, dressed and soon heading to yoga class. The arch is giving me a reminder that it wasn't happy, so might bail on the running this weekend completely. We'll see. Though part of me thinks "if it bugs me when I'm not running and when I'm running, why not run?"

Good luck with Part 1 Andy! (stay warm! )

Had a great gym w/o last night, even managed 3K on the t/m, after a nice 10 minute w/u on the bike, then followed them up with some weights.
Had big plans to hit the gym again this morning pre errands..... but. You know that when the signs of why you shouldn't go outnumber the signs of why you should go, it's best to stay away!
Tomorrow is another day. (or maybe I'll squeeze something in this afternoon.

The sun is supposed to shine here sometime today. I'm looking forward to it! Enjoy all!

Good luck Andy and Cynthia with Part 1!!

Heading out for coffee and then a long (!) run of 8-10 km this morning......

I'm determined to finish my stairs and tiles this weekend but I will be trapped either up(down)stairs or outside for about 12 hours once I grout/clear coat!!

Have a fabulous day everyone and stay WARM!!

Not so much warm here this morning. Brrr! -24 with a NASTY windchill of -38. I think that it's the coldest I've felt this winter while running. Thirty minutes now after finishing, and I'm just starting to feel warm.

Cool in Montreal - 16C / -24WC but the sun is bright so it was a nice run. 7.3k @ 4:54 for 35:50.

14.48 km done on the treadmill this morning. Taking my daughter to try X-country skiing today - not sure how well that's going to go over since its pretty cold out today.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Ang, does your arch bug you because of running? If so, I'd say don't run. If it's bugging you because you wore heels (they totally kill my arches!), then maybe a run would help. Running often makes my feet feel better after wearing heels.

It's a gym day today, and I don't think I'll run. I'm trying for the big 10K tomorrow!! Baby steps, baby steps... 10K used to be almost a daily thing for me!! I'm also getting my hair cut today- hooray!!

Legs are a bit tired from last night, I hate 400m sets of sprint kicking...

Long run later, inbetween 12-16km depending how I feel. -15 with -22 windchill, FML.

You're likely done racing by now, Andy. Hope it went well!

A warm front just moved in, and it's 8 degrees at 7am. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer. I may need to pull the shorts out tomorrow...January... this west coast weather is freaky!

My half-marathon clinic starts today. I'm modifying the run though, because I'm racing tomorrow. I'm only going to do about 5km, instead of the 10km that's on the schedule.

40 min run on schedule this morning.

Then both boys have soccer games and we've crossed our fingers that the rain will hold off. It's oldest boy's birthday so we have family coming over for dinner/celebration tonight. I cannot believe how big my boy is getting....................

I haven't run since Sunday, and the arch didn't hurt until mid week. I don't think it's the running bugging the arch. So, maybe a run tomorrow.

Yoga was great today! Now off for a busy day.

Good Morning!

A strong 12K on the TM this morning. Varied speeds between 6.1m/k to 5.4m/k - up then down. It felt great! It's so sunny and DH is working today so I was going to do my LSD, but it's just to cold for my enjoyment. Especially since tomorrow is supposed to be much warmer.

Followed the run with some core work.

Now off to shower and begin the weekend chores!

I think I had an "Andy sighting" on Thursday evening...was that you, Andy, coming out of the Josten's building on Thursday evening just before the Expo closed? You were wearing an orange sweater and walking with a woman (was that you, Moof?). Recognized ChrisL the next day and intro'd myself.

Race retreat, huh? Kicking myself for being too cheap to get a pkg...never again! Snow at the start line in Florida is just wrong, wrong, wrong.

Part I down, Part II to go. Goal is just to finish before the cut off time and stay upright. In the end, it's all about the bling...want my Goofy medal. :-)

Have a great day everyone.

Good luck Goofy Challengers!

I woke up feeling rested and ready to attack today's run. Seeing as we have a -38WC (and if DT says he felt cold, it's cold!!!), I'm running indoors this morning. I've decided to switch things up by doing the longer weekend run today. Today's planned 28 km will be a new TM LSD record for me. I'm feeling so good I might even shoot for 30K. Why not? Tunes are lined up, the weather will be good, and there's plenty of beverage at the water bar.

Rest day for me today. It seems funny to say that as I haven't run that much recently - but I can feel it in my hams :( . Today is "interior economy" as they say in the Army - clean up and reorganize my home office and then the hockey game tonight.

Cheers

Like RA, I haven't run since Sunday and won't today. :( My ankle is doing ok but has still been giving me some grief (mostly in the surrounding muscles/tissues rather than on the bone) so I am trying to be patient and will wait until tomorrow... or longer. We'll see.
