I'm sad. :( This will be my first year not participating for many, many years (well except for 2005-at a wedding in Calgary, which is a good thing because I missed the brutal weather). 1990 was my first 1/2 marathon and it was Winnipeg.

Edit-changed date from 1989 to 1990-good memory-just short.

Manitoba will always be special to me. Before I was a runner I lived for a few years right by the stadium and heard the crowd and music every year and had no idea I'd be there myself someday.

2005 was something, yes. I was on track for a much better race in 2008 (the year I met you there) until mile 13, and then 3 Bernese Mountain Dogs saved me from a DNF>

Try and behave my friend. Why don't you just book your ticket to Winnipeg. You seem to love Winnipeg and the race. Heck you like it more than we do!

If KBO hadn't s*cked me in last week into Chicago 10-10-10, I would have most likely made it back to Winnipeg for sure this year, but alas ... no more $$$ for flight nor hotel at the moment .. :( :( Though, I could always cancel my 16 Mediterrean Cruise in April ... :shifty:

S*cked you in?! Why am I to blame?

Anyway, no offense to the MB Marathon - but Chicago is waaaaaaay more fun.

And, likely more Winnipeg Maniacs running in Chicago 10-10-10 than in the Manitoba Marathon weekend, I suspect ...

Not this one. I know where I owe my allegiance. :P

Besides, the MB Marathon and I have some unfinished business.

I've run MB three times. I'm just done with the race. Quite a few of us have opted to run Fargo this year (one month earlier than MB). It's always good to mix things up a bit.
