Yeah,

Back in the open coral here. Sigh.

Will try to get as far up as I can, but I'm not worried.

Last year we corraled ourselves in the 4:45 range and it only took 20 minutes to get to the start line - not bad at all. We had a great time joking with the people around us and then casually walking to the start line dodging piles of clothing left behind by people. Strangely enough the start of the race is a fond memory for me. We met some pretty funny people and Jackie was even flashed by a frat boy - unintentionally of course.

Ok, maybe just a wee one after the race, it warms you up when you drink it straight :)

Why is that a bad thing?

With the earlier NYC lottery this year, maybe people are holding out. If so, you'll see a huge surge in applicants after that (March 30 or so).

MCM opens up in 28 days, and sells out 30,000+ in less than 3-4 days usually .. :?

I'm glad it hasn't sold out yet. This one is on my A list but I can't decide. I'm having a hard time with forking over the $$$ registration fee.

Really? What do you need to know to decide? This race is phenomenal. Even though my two crappiest marathons have been in Chicago, I LOVE this course and the city. It'd be worth going every year, $$$ permitting of course.

And for what it's worth, it is a WAY cheaper experience than NYC.

I think she's concerned about being ready for the marathon due to injury recovery?

I didn't have a corral B qualifying time in the past year ( under 1:35 1/2 marathon or under 3:35 marathon) so I used my 1:38 Army Half-marathon from last September and they popped me into Corral C.....about 4500 people ahead of me....4000 in my corral....and 36,000 behind me......it's gonna be a great day! :)
"...twenty miles of hope, six miles of truth..."
21 marathons since 2001......up next, CND Army half-marathon in Sept. and Toronto Waterfront marathon in Oct.

Hey guys!!!

I would like to do something special (besides running the Chicago Marathon)!

Baseball is only an option if they (the Cubs or White Sox) make the playoffs.
Basketball is during pre-season and if they are in town......great!!e
Football and Hockey are the same.

Anybody have other thoughts other than sports or including sports including clubs or music????
Cheers,
Jill

TV shows take hours and hours and hours out of your day. That is time you could spending at the Expo Andy.
