Even less made it to the start line last year. I'm surprised because I think the cool weather scared more people off last year than the heat did this year.

I can't believe that I went through the Finish Zone Area and only opted for one beer before heading back to the Hotel to shower and change, etc ... As, I had already chugged down some water/gatorade at the finish line, chugged down a bottle of the Gatorade Recovery drink, and felt like I was gonna hurl after chugging down the serving of beer .. :? In hindsight, I could have gone for another one or two, I suspect .. :shifty: :?

Top finisher from Saskatoon - Jason Warick in 2:24:40. He ran the back half almost 6 minutes slower than the front, so I guess the heat got to him, too. The winner Wanjiru was a minute slower on the back half although with a finish of 2:06:24 I'm thinking he wasn't that bothered by the heat...

ETA - are the bib numbers for the elites assigned by seeding? I notice most of the top 10 also have bib numbers from 1-10, and the top women starting at 101. Warick had bib number 100 so I'm guessing he was the last seeded male? He ended up 42nd so I guess that's a good result for him.

I saw the top men with bibs from 1-100 and the top women 101-? , and then after that the numbers were for the A Corral.

Some of the top finishers looked super fresh on the last hill, including Wanjiru. He pulled away on that hill like it was nothing. You could see the second place man just deflate half way up that hill - he didn't have much left in him. There were some top 100 that were obviously not having a good day because they were finishing well back in the crowd of runners from A and B corrals.

My Brother is weird .... Sends me a quick e-mail .. congrats on a .. "... not bad marathon in 3:49. " It's umm, a 3:48:xx

And, when I responded about it being a hot one, reaching over 90F by the end for some folks, his response was .. "... you should've quit ... " :? And, yep, he is the most supportive of my family when it comes to my little hobby of mine ... :?
