Raining Thursday

Postby mcshame » Thu Jun 03, 2010 6:07 am

Woke up and it was raining, but it was 15C. I like running in the rain, so I did recovery run.
5k @ 5:48 HR 141. Nice and easy. Had a great day in work yesterday, hoping for another.

No running tonight- I tried to do a speed workout last night but bailed. I am recovered enough (from strep last week) to run steady, but when I pushed to do the interval it just felt... wrong. Not good. So I'll give it another week. Funny, otherwise I feel totally fine, but I guess that's why they put you on antibiotics for a week! Today is the last day.

Hi again everybody! My laptop died so I've been away. Still running though :P

Last night I ran 15.5km - the farthest I've run yet. The goal I'd set in my head was to get back in shape to run a 14k run outdoors by the end of the summer and I've already beat it. I sure showed my a$$-mar who's boss this time 8)

Rest day today and tomorrow for me and if I can find a babysitter for Saturday there is a 8km race I might try out for learning experience.

Going to attempt a short run today.

Even though it is nice out, I will stick to the treadmill - first attempt at anything physical since getting sick on the weekend (Monday night was not pretty). Ended up missing work Tuesday and yesterday, though I did sleep the past two nights.

Have a great day everyone,

45 minutes in the river valley in Edmonton. Thanks to holly and Ian for the route - perfect distance, very nice through the woods. Now back to Calgary.

It's a "good go" -- it's easy to work your own training around their runs....that's what I do... :D

Yeah, continue to run my lsd on Saturday and then follow-up with a shorter effort on Sunday, but still at my marathon goal pace .... In effect, starting my preparation for Goofy Challenge 2011 already ...

I need to run tonight. About 45 minutes easy. If I don't do it tonight, I do it tomorrow before work. Vacation is over and I need to start running regularly again.

I did 5 sets of 4&1's on the treadmill at an easy pace. I'm trying to break in the new orthotics. They feel really odd. Really noticeable.

I'm supposed to be on a plane right now flying to Kona via Seattle. but am sitting in my living room in Calgary.

went out for dinner last night.
dave got some food poisoning.
very ugly hours between 1am and 6am.
no way he could have gone to the airport at 4:30am to make the 6:30am flight (to clear customs, etc)
called to change flights to tomorrow (with a hefty fee).

so tomorrow at this time, I should be enroute to Kona.

we arrive at noon. athlete check in closes at 2:30pm. Bike check in closes at 5:30pm. Guess we'll be rebuilding our bikes at bike check-in tomorrow.
should make for an interesting race on Sat.

please send good vibes for ontime flights.
he's feeling better now (thus confirming the food poisoning diagnosis).

feeling kinda bummed I will admit.
Race Hard. Race Happy.
