Tango Tuesday

Postby mcshame » Tue Jul 13, 2010 5:55 am

Why not, it's never too early to dance.

Good run this morning with 10 strides, 13k @ 4:35.

Bought a new minivan yesterday, Dodge Grand Caravan. Getting it delivered at the end of the month, just in time for our trip to Toronto and Stowe, Vermont in August. 1st American (Canadian) car purchase, God help me....

28km bike from home to work this morning. I got soaked from the fog  Taking the easy way home and meeting dh at his physio appointment in town. So about 31km by the end of the day.

Have a good one everyone!

Pretty well a repeat of yesterday's tempo workout, 5K / 23:15, except about a 1 minute and change faster this morning, in the 'hoods of Kanata ... Woke up at 5am, and checked the weather channel, as it was already at 19C, with showers, in the forecast before 8am, and wanted to avoid that :? ... Afterwards, headed to the Club, on my usual time, for 30 minutes of R&R in the chair ... 8)

Positive vibes to my Cyber Puppy, C-Moss ....

6K speed = 1K warm up, 4K on track at a local high school, 1K cool down heading back home. 85% humidity, 0 wind at 6AM ... I would have liked showers! No rain here at all. Have to go water the flowers ...

No tango in my step today.
Took the lazy way out and stayed in bed when the s/o got up. Scored me an extra 2 hours of (obviously) much needed sleep.
Appt at noon, stretching tonight (if it kills me!).

Enjoy the day.

3.5K done first thing this morning. I need to get my morning routine timed better as I was about 5 minutes late to catch my train, so had to drive to work instead. :?

Rest/sick day for me. Ugh..... going back to bed. The good news is that my home is now 10C cooler than it has been for the past 11 days!!

The weather cleared out so nicely yesterday evening I thought this morning would be nice clear air. No such luck, muggy and overcast.

Anyway, 15K done at a steady pace.

Bike ride today - 20K..
Have come to the realization that I need to make a physio appt. Knee isn't as good as it should be (I don't think) for 6 weeks post surgery. Still a lot of tightness, pain and swelling, and now that stupid plantar fasciitis is roaring it's head again.

No rain here - just clouds. Lots of plant watering happening here too!

I am surprised that you are not still in physio post knee surgery.

I am not sure what surgery you had, but when I had mine (cartlidge clean up on the back of the kneecap and a lateral release) I was in physio for at least three months, as my quad atrophied - jiggly like Jell-O . I also had the muscles around my knee seizing up - they were trying to protect the site of the 'trama' aka the surgery site.

I had a great physio - she was a sports physio and tailored my program to my needs/goals. I seriously have never worked so hard in physio before or since - she was a tiny little thing but a slave driver  She was fantastic.

It has been raining here for what seems like forever! I hope to get 10-12 km in after work :) Taking my mom to see a movie this evening.

Have a great day maniacs!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

good morning... I think!

Had a terrible sleep last night (insomnia is normal for me but seems to be worse lately... possibly due to my impending race and/or too many overnight shifts!). Then I was late for work and I'm soooo sleepy!

But I need to run tonight. Distance tbd.

I actually did it - I was up and out the door by 5:00am. Ran 7K in 43:22. The real test will be if I can do it again tomorrow.
Take care, all.
