Just in from 5.5K What a difference a day makes! Weathernetwork says 17C with 88% humidity. Yesterday was 17C with 94% humidity. You'd think about the same but not even close! It was actually cool out there this morning. So nice! My 5 was 3 minutes faster then yesterday's sweatfest!

time to clean up and off to work! Have a great day everyone!

I was out there at 5:30. Got in 16 km incl a warm-up, 13 km at tempo pace and a cooldown. It is a nice morning for a run. Still alittle cool out for now.

This morning I am going to the "Breakfast of Champions;" for all employees who participated in the corporate challenge (I ran a 5k). It is at another facility here in town, and they are raffling vacation days.

Please send orange vibes that I win vacation days!

Tough workout this morning- 18k with 10k @ lactate threshold. My legs were pretty rubbery by the end of that.
Almost had a heart attack this morning. It was still dark and I was running down road through a forest (in the provincial park). I scared a deer, which came crashing out of the forest right in front of me. I didn't have my flashlight on, so all I heard was crashing through the bush and snorting, and then got my flashlight on in time to see it run across the road less than 10 feet away. Pretty neat.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Rest day.

I ran 6.7K in about 40 minutes last night. I felt a little sluggish to start, but then I got into a nice groove with my laps coming in between 5:58 and 6:06/km.

Just over 10k this morning, with 6k at tempo pace. Much, much cooler than yesterday morning.

Would like to do an easy run today but depends on how my hip co-operates. It's OK but still making its presence felt. So, icing and gentle strecthing.

Decided to do my long run today, as I am registered for the Brockville Sprint DU on Sunday, and hooked up with Beth at 5:30am at the Goulbourn Rec Centre for a 30K run along the Trans-Canada Trail ... made it out to the Hwy 7 intersection before turning around at the 14.5K mark, and ended up running the return about 7 minutes faster :P ... What a gorgous morning for a run, about 18C with no humidity and a slight breeze .... 8)

LIKE.

and RA - :naughty:

Me - I ended up going on the trainer last night and did a 30min hard spin - kept it in the upper chain ring and did ladders up and down.

this morning - trainer session with Ara. OMFG. THE MOSQUITOES. Seriously. When did we become Winnpeg? they were horrible - even with bug spray - I got so many bites on my a$$ THROUGH my capris, it's not even funny.

tonight - blizzard with some maniacs. for the kids.

Good luck for money and vacation days! And ya to those getting back at this running thing!

Rest day for me... I just have to make sure I stay on the boat. I'm being taken sailing. :)

Important day at work and things will be considerably simpler for me after today.

I'm meeting a friend this evening for a 5k easy run.

I was out for a bike ride last night since it is a cut back week and I needed a change. As I was riding on the Humber trail just north of Old Mill a young deer ran across the bike path. I haven't seen one that far south before. There were a lot of people out in the park, too. Brave animal.

Not a mosquito in my yard last night. Of course we carpet bomb them with malathion in Winnipeg.

Edited to add....why do mosquitos like to bite you right in the arse? I've always found this a bit strange.

supposed to go to a going-away thing tonight but I don't think I'll go. May grab a friend and go get a blizzard instead. For the kids. ;)

Initially had a tough go at the mid week run. In Toronto, the humidity was 84% so it was still a sweatfest.
After 3 miles, and settling in a slightly slower (perceived) pace, I rocked out the remaining 6 miles.
My pace ended up being right on. 9 miles done.
Cheers,
Jill
