Terri, I'm sorry to hear about the leg- that sucks. :(
I did 18.2km this morning and it was just so soupy and muggy. Not hot, really, just muggy. We went in the water at the end, though, which was fantastic! We ended up at a 5:20/km average- we had been at 5:35 on the way out so we sped up big time coming back! :) We're off to Ottawa now, back Wednesday. Hope to see some of you at the track!

26 km of planned 29 km. Had to call it quits due to tightness behind the knees and calves. Will try again next week.

6 mile recovery run this morning in very humid conditions. I was drenched.
We are supposed to get some big thunderboomers, but it is sunny at the moment.
Hope the tennis can be placed.

Have a great afternoon everyone.
Cheers,
Jill

Ongoing plan :To start running, continue with eating habits, positive outlook.

Was supposed to go do 32K in the Gats with friends this morning. I woke up at 6.30 and decided my hip had not magically healed overnight, so went back to bed for 3 hours. I did manage to stagger & stumble my way through a very slow 15K after that. Then I found out my friends got up there in the middle of a thunderstorm and bailed on the run. opting for coffee instead.

Got my 23.5 km done in 2:34 in very hot hot hot conditions 27 degrees. Ouch!! This is now my longest run both on distance and time. I had alot of wierd random thoughts out there today. It might have been the heat or lack of hydration but I did it. One thought that went through my head was no one I know has ever died from running in the heat, Spirit, Andy and all the others back East do it all the time so suck it up. Thanks for getting me through!!
Also I did this whole run with NO ipod just weird random thoughts :P :P

Had a fun day with the family, its sort of about running. First I hooked up a contraption to my mountain bike that connects to our dog Tuzo. Then after some local trials, we went out to a trail. I ran while SO biked with Tuzo attached. It took him some getting used to it, but it all worked out in the end. We finished up at a tiny waterfall and cooled off, it was brutal humid out there. Of course we put some videos up on his Youtube page.

That looks like fun, Doonst!

Unlike!

I took my bike out for an 80k ride today. The forecast was for rain and it rained at one point, but then the sun came out. It was fun. I miss my bikes.

That's it for my rest week. Big couple of weeks of running coming up.

Although we don't die running in the heat, we sure feel like we're going to at times!

Absolutely insane calf cramp, so calling today's run a non-starter. Next week marks the "real" return to a running schedule. Can't wait!
Next?

7km road run today.
Right heel was very tight & initially thought I was going to bail out after 200m or so. I dropped the pace off & 10min later, everything felt good to continue on till the end. No walk breaks either

Did my 14k LSD this morning on the TM. DH made plans for a breakfast meeting with a business partner for 7:30 so I had to either run in the morning on the TM or go later when it was HOT. Yeah... I choose the TM over the heat any day. Even on the TM in the basement in the early morning it was warm, but the luxury of running at home was I had ice at my disposal. ;)
