Dog Gone Saturday

Postby ceileigh » Sat Sep 04, 2010 6:54 am

Started with a 3K dog walk ... now off to the market to get some bison for my dog ... then off to the dog show for the day. Conformation and Obedience today in Ingleside, ON .... then tomorrow I am going to the agility trials in St Lazare. Have to aim for my run very early tomorrow morning because I end up as a 'runner' at the agility trials (placing bars, etc. in the rings) and it is a long tiring day! Disc dog Monday in St Lazare too! Doggie weekend! My hamstring is still a bit tight today but loosened up in the walk so I am going to try a run tomorrow and see how it goes! Did a couple of short jogs today with the second feeling better then the first so I think it is time to try it out!

Have a good day everyone!

Your going to be in our town of st-Lazare. Where are the trials?

Did 8k recovery this morning @ 5:20 pace. Left calf still bugging me, ART appointment on Tuesday.
Off to Ottawa today to see my parents.

The trials are at Guides Canins on Montee Poirier ... http://www.guidescanins.com for directions. I am there every Wednesday for a few hours as I train there. It is at the top of an amazing hill that would be a killer (and stellar) training hill. I see many cyclists training on that hill and some runners too. Every time I see a runner I look to see if it is you LOL

It is a huge trial, admission is free if you want to check it out. Agility today, tomorrow and Monday. Disc dog and I believe flyball on Monday too. I hope to be there most of the day tomorrow depending on how early I get out to run and how far I can run with the hamstring issue. ART Monday for me!

Finally I got back out there. It's scary how quickly fitness goes. I got in 8.47K but had to do the last 3K and change
with 10/1's. I'll take it, however. Ceileigh, I might just check out the dog trials - I am a Hudson/St. Lazre peep
too. Have a great day everyone.

Parked at the Kingsmere parking lot and did about 6km of trails in Gatineau Park. It was more like an adventure than a run. I definitely didn't follow the route I was expecting to follow... I got to a point in the trail where there was a trail marker on either side of some swampy / marshy / peaty ground so I made my way across... Lower calf-high water most of the way until... the next thing I know... I am up to my nipples in swampy water... @@#$@#. I eventually crawl my way out and finally make it to a hard trail. A couple minutes along and then I catch my foot on a stick. Face plant... Now fully covered in mud... It was a great run. Will go back tomorrow (but do a different trail...)

Have a great day everyone!

I am going to be out of town tomorrow and Monday so I combined my Saturday and Sunday runs and did 30 km this morning. I did then first 9 km on my own then ran home and picked up my 10 month old and pushed her in her Chariot for the remaining 21 km to give me a total of 112 km this week. I plan on resting tomorrow and Monday before resuming my training Tuesday morning.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

10k done, a touch on the fast side. What a beautiful, sunny morning for a run. A bit windy, but I'm mostly protected in my valley.

Now I'm waiting impatiently for Trouble, I mean MINI-T to arrive. :P

Sounds like it's pretty messy in Nova Scotia-- my best to everyone.

12K with Chantelle this morning. My legs were dragging-- glad it's done.

I am sitting comfortably at breakfast at my hotel in Anaheim, for tomorrow Disneyland half; my first half in about a billion years. I am in corral A, so I hope for a good race.

Whoever told me to rent a car from the airport is insane. The traffic yesterday afternoon was absolutely brutal; it took me over 2 hours for a 40km drive. The expo was nothing special but well organized. I am wearing the stupid bracelet that Coast to Coast challenger have to wear till the end of the race. Hopefully, I will meet Andy tomorrow at the race; we are in the same corral.

Which # trail did that happen at?

Trail commute done. I got off work early today. Lucky me, because Stella and Latte ate a whole container of Metamucil while I was gone. Looks like my whole afternoon and evening are booked up now. Dog gone Saturday indeed!
