Thursday thread

Postby ceileigh » Thu Sep 23, 2010 4:36 am

Original title eh! :D

Dogs got me up at 5AM. Post ART today and I am sore! I have had shoulder issues on / off for months are really mucked it up on my fall so she is working it - ouch! My legs are getting better though and I joke that my leg is improving by inches as now it is just the hip area that has yet to fully release. So it is a good kind of sore.

Planning a 5K walk today with a few short easy jogs to see how the legs go. Will have four dogs with me. I am starting to feel like the dog whisperer.

Have a great day everyone!

Nice and relaxin' 6K run along the Canal with Marg this morning .... enough said !!! 8)

Almost gave Marg a heart attack this morning ... when, ironically, we were chatting about "not doing anything st*pid like falling, tripping, getting injured over the next few weeks during the taper ... " then all of a sudden I lost/missed a step going up the stairs to mini-hill/steps ... and, almost wiped out myself ... :shifty:

Have a great day everyone ....

A nice crisp morning for a ride. Thought I didn't dress warm enough but eventually got warmed up (although my feet never did). Tried to take it a bit easier this morning because I want to run along the canal at lunch.

Safe travels, La.

Have a great day everyone!

The maniacs are coming! the maniacs are coming!!

RA and I met up with Mike last night and we did about a 5k in 33min or so - took Ang up the curling club stairs, shared with her one of the calgary 'money shots', etc - then grabbed a bite to eat. Then did airport pick up #1 and got bruyere from YYC - delivered the girls to their hotel!

Tonight - will do a speed session on the treadmill after work and then head for airport pickup #2 - La and MiniT. Girls - red or white tonight?

I'm going to hit some soggy trails for a couple hours after the boy goes to school. It'll be my first run since last weekend's 50k.

12k part trails part road once all the kids are dropped off. Coming down with a cold 2 days before my last LSD 36k of training. It might end up shorter then planned.

Done. 9.8km in total. Before heading out, I wasn't really in the mood for it but glad I went. I took it nice and slow (had to cut it back a few times to avoid going to quickly). I have a hard time controlling my speed when I run on the canal. I find with all the walkers / runners, I always want to run faster. Today I definitely didn't want to do that.

Did about an hour and a half. Stuck to pretty easy routes, threw in a couple sloggers for fun. I love rainy forest runs.

Out for a 7.2 km race walk practice today ( about 1/3 of the distance for the half-marathon walking race this coming Sunday). I did the same Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if I can maintain a pace of under 8:00 min/km for the entire half-marathon. so far so good. That will be my target!!

Have a good one y'all! :)
