Hangover Monday

Postby HCcD » Mon Sep 27, 2010 6:02 am

In the spirit of the Melissa and Scotiabank racers this past weekend, as well as the other respective racers ... Happy Hangover Monday ....

Week 2 of my taper weeks, starts off with my regular 6K loop around the Canala this morning ... bringing my annual total to 2,701Km+ for the year, and surpassing last year's total of 2,700K, which also was my highest annual mark, ever ...  and, I still have over 3 months left of the year, which includes my Goofy Training, after tapering/recovering from Chicago 10-10-10 ... :P

Congratulations, to all the racers this weekend ... looking forward to reading all your adventures .. :P

I will be doing a 60-minute run this evening -- nothing fancy -- just keeping the legs turning -- a little tight in the glutes from yesterday's 5:00 hour pacing gig at Scotiabank -- but nothing too serious at all.... :D
2014:
Mar - Around the Bay 30 km - Done
May - Sulphur Spring 100 miler - DNS
Sept - Army HM
Sept/Oct - 50 miler
Oct - Pace Bunny - Toronto Scotia Waterfront
Dec - Reggae Marathon in Jamaica

3 miles with the Dude after work. My Fiancé starts back hockey tonight so that'll be just me and the pooch running.

Have a good day!

Flying home from YYC this morning. Not sure if I'll feel like a run when I get home. Will play it by ear.

That having been said ... I think you should lock him up, until at least after Chicago 10-10-10, so he doesn't pull a Cr@sh from now till then ..

I told him if he pulls smth at ballhockey before Chicago, he'll have just wasted 4 months of his life training and he'll just be my personal cheerleader in Chicago!!! He says he won't.... I sure hope he won't since we're planning on running together!

44km on the bike to work this morning. Had to use a headlamp for the first 1/2 hour or so. My badly bruised toe behaved most of the time. A couple times it reminded me that it was there. The black and blue is now down on my foot a bit... TMI, I know. Hopefully be a lot better for tomorrow night's group run.

Have a great day everyone!

Rest day for me. Starting to get the pre race obsession about every little twinge in my legs. I'm sure I'm fine, but there's always the voice in the back of my head telling me to worry.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I am starting to feel the same way too. My left calf muscle felt tight when I ran yesterday so I cut my run short. It had me worried at first but my leg feels fine now. Stretching it yesterday and having a rest day today should be all I need.

Debating whether the YMCA Aquafit class is worth the drive to Rockland. I'm thinking I'll do some pilates in the afternoon, and if I don't feel tired by the evening I'll go check it out.

I can't wait till the pool at the Orleans Y opens, it's a long way to Rockland!

Also having a real hard time reminding myself that no, it's NOT a good idea to try running until I get the green light from my physio......sigh......I sure miss being able to workout without having to drive for 20 minutes first.

A few errands to do this afternoon have gotten in the way of a lunch hour workout.

First, take our truck to the insurance adjuster - I managed to hit a grouse while driving our son out to Gimli to fly on Saturday (stupid bird decided to try to take off). It managed to bust our grill and smoosh our radiator a bit. I got DH to pull it out of the grill when I got home, as I really didn't feel like pulling a dead bird from the grill Image but now I have to get MPI to look at it (we have no deductable for wildlife collisions).

Then, drop a work laptop off to a housebound colleague (six weeks sick leave).

Will have to do my workout after the second errand (if there is time) or after work.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Today was a light progression run on the TM. Started 10 min @ 6.6 mph, then 10 min @ 6.7 mph, and 10 min @ 6.8 mph, 3 min @ 6.5 mph and 2 min walking cool-down. 6.10 km in 35 minutes (5:45/km).

I did not get in my minimum 20 minutes/day of exercise required for the 100 day challenge over the weekend, so I'm out. :(

I went to the gym to hit the TM at lunch...without socks. Felt awfully silly leaving the gym within minutes of arrival

Since I got to work through lunch instead of run, I'll be taking off a bit early & trying to run when I get home. For some reason it's always harder for me to run in the evening when the couch is there looking all comfy & the cat is trying to sit on my lap...

2011 plans
Resolution Run - 48 min (walked...it was COLD!)
WPS Half Marathon - DNF, 1:20ish at 10.75km
Fargo 5K & 10K - 5K walked 48 something. 10K 1:13:55
Try a Trail series
And others TBD...
