Gusty Wednesday

Postby mcshame » Wed Sep 29, 2010 6:18 am

Very very windy this morning. Did a tough run with it and against it. 20k with 4x1200m. The interval paces were 4:23 / 4:22 / 4:14 / 4:10. They were really tough, the last one was slightly uphill. Very surprised I got the target 4:10 out of it (they all should have been 4:10). Legs are feeling strong but tired at the same time (do you know what I mean?), maybe solid is a better word, no pains in the legs. All great signs.

Total run was 20k @ 4:50 including intervals and recovery (there was some walking involved). Must find food!

EDIT: It rained on me again for the last 7k, but still warm out

Good job Lorne.

Rest day, I'm tired from yesterday's double workout day (tae-box + 4miles run).

Have a good one!

Left for the gym, with my new Lulu gym back. Parked car and realized gym card and keys to my locker are in old gym back. ffs
Back home, parked car and ran to the farm. Just over 7km. It was very flat.

It is BEAUTIFUL here today! Heading out for a bike ride at noon hour. Work will get that time back tonight with work stuff to get done, plus another conference thing tomorrow... another 12 hour day, with most of it on my feet.

Last night of bootcamp tonight :(
I will miss it for sure, but I am excited because it's fit test night tonight! Hoping the rain stays at bay so that we can workout to the max (instead of 15 of us crammed under a small gazebo like Monday night)

Have a great day everyone!

Hope to get a run in from my NEW HOUSE sometime later today. Depends on what time I get my keys. Runpub later, though likely just for the pub part.

Ang - do you need one of her extra backs!? ;)
I vote for the new Lulu, the old back has too much baggage

Rest day for me, some stretching and more ankle strengthening exercises I think. I got a wobble board yesterday, so I'll try it out.

It's meet the teacher tonight at the boys' school. I can't believe it goes from 6:30pm to 9pm though! And they have an itinerary!

from last night:

3:04:19
26.32k
7:00 avg
149 avg hr
3:29 min/km best (ha - that must have happened for a second of time!)
160 bpm max

other comments on my run yesterday:
- started in the rain (not downpour, but not sprinkle) - glad I threw in my ls shirt in the morning. rain stopped about an hour in.
- wore my lulu run skirt - didn't loath running that far in it, but wasn't a huge fan of it either. it was ok and can be done, but i'll stick to shorts for longer distances.
- saw not just a girl chatting on her cell phone while running, but also a dude on a bike with his cell phone cradled by his shoulder talking as he crossed Memorial Drive while riding said bike. idiots
- was feeling quite frustrated by the end of the run
- SFW marathon will be a sh!t show.

that's it

I've seen a lot of this recently... including the guy a few days ago on 16th ave riding his bike with no helmet, chatting on his cel, with a massive box balanced on the front of his bike. Might be the same guy.

Did one hour core class last night - feeling a little stiff today. My plans to run home from work got cancelled because I need my car to drive across town in the middle of the day, so it looks like I'm hitting the TM tonight after the kids are in bed. I was planning to do 16k today, so I'll see how far I get before boredom sets in!

rest day today, partly because it's the one day between speed work and long run, and partly because I have an appointment with a bellini (or two ;) tonight!

Wow. Just, wow.

My kneejerk reaction, though, was...if you can do all that while you're running/cycling, you're obviously not working hard enough!!

Run-commute home planned, so somewhere between 16k and 18k.

Chatting on the cell is fine while running, you are supposed to be able to carry on a conversation on most runs. Should probably use a hands free device though. Holding the phone up would affect form.

Morning maniacs! Had a great 5km run last night with the dogs - taped up the toenail and all was well :) Tonight I have an hour strength class to attend, 3km run to the gym, class and then 3km run home.

Happy hump day.
