Here's hoping for hoopla! Ed and I will be there for the marathon. We're not signed up yet - I'm too superstitious and am waiting until after Hamilton this weekend.

If everything goes according to plan, I hope to be there, hopefully with Mrs McD as well (though she'll be cheering rather than running this time). I LOVE going to Vancouver.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Duh....I'll be there. I have a hotel reservation but not entered yet. After last weekend, however, I'm almost ready to push the submit button. Just waiting for a boring moment when I feel the need to spend money.

If some circumstances come together, I could be in for the half.

How long you staying for?
I have a special corporate account/rate for Days Inn @$104.80 / night plus taxes, etc ... for a double-bed suite .. @4 nights would be about $486.xx or so ...

Way at the bottom of the Best Western rate page, they had a deal on 3 nights. Cheaper than the VMO rate which was sold out anyway.

Mine is weird ... T, F and S = $84.00 night plus taxes, but Sunday jumps up to $167.20 ... so, averages at $104.80 / night ... vs the $129.00 per night plus taxes quoted on the race site rates ...

I'm working with Erin on this little getaway. We have 2 logistical issues to work out first, the 3 kids and the baby birds. We are planning to take the kids with us if our friends in BC can have them sleep over (not sure yet) and we will need someone to feed our parrots (shouldn't be an issue). Hope we can work this out, would be fun to see Erin and Jen BQ

Think I might be able to run a little something that weekend. It is a month before the Oliver 1/2 Iron so I will ask Coach on Thursday. People born in 1939 or earlier can run free guess I can tell my dad and maybe this could be his BQ since he missed it in Oct.

Hey- I saw that!
No promises on a spring marathon attempt for me. I'm going to play this one by ear, but will for sure be doing one of the races at the BMO Vancouver.
No rush on registering... it doesn't sell out that quickly, if at all.
If my MIL isn't living with us at that time, I've already offered Chez Wolf to two potentially visiting maniacs. Sounds like a party is a-brewin'. Almost as epic as 2009?
(maybe I can even convince a few others to come out! )

Re: 2011 Vancouver Marathon - Hoopla
So, I've tentatively book the hotel from Thursday, April 28 to Monday, May 2 ...
Vancouver, afterall, has been my best marathon to day ... so, if I can swing it, would love to go back on that course again ...
But, why are Sunday rates so much higher ??

Coming down Thursday night would only be another $84.00 plus taxes ... so, if everything does fall into place, might as well stay the extra night, as I will be flying out, regardless .... Unless, I can catch a Sunday night red-eye back to Ottawa ...
Or, I could possibly, find and move to a cheaper hotel on Sunday ...
