Run with new friend FRIDAY
I'm going for a run with Jogger Barbie later this morning. We had a great time at dinner last night and I'm looking forward to learning all her speedy marathon tips during our run. I'll try and stick with her for 45 minutes, after that she's on her own.
On the books for 2017:
50th Birthday!!
Boston Marathon- April 17th what a day- DREAM COME TRUE
Run for Water 10K- May 28th
Scotia Half - June 25th
Trail River Run half marathon- Sept. 30- CANCELLED

The dessert was awesome. (But I TOTALLY didn't need the calories!) I think Cheryl will be posting a picture in the meet and greet thread soon.

Re: Run with new friend FRIDAY
It's almost 3:30pm on Fri here in Aus. Workout yesterday was a 35k bike on part of the bike couse, today, we swam during the practice swim time for about 30min - water was quite choppy, but very clear -saw some crabs and a little sting ray on the ocean floor. just have to NOT drink the water! Registered (which took less than 5min - IMC needs to take notes), met up with Amelia (the pro we homestayed for the 70.3 in Calgary in 2009) and then did a 30min run along this path the runs along the beach.
Feeling quite good - tonight is the welcome banquet and race meeting in a couple of hours.
other observations:
- driving on the other side of the car on the other side of the road isn't too bad - just tiring from concentrating so much!
- food prices are quite expensive - $5 for 4 bananas. oh, and CO2 cartridges - $50 for 12 (they're about $2 or less at home!)
- drip coffee is something you don't easily find - apparently Macdonald's is the best source. Otherwise, it's Americano's (or long blacks as they like to be referred to).

Re: Run with new friend FRIDAY
Off to Ottawa today and for this weekend for my son's hockey tournament at the Senplex, actually today it's at the Kanata Rec Centre. Will see Claudie and/or JF some time this weekend, likely only briefly. Will try to squeeze 10k in tonight in the dangerous hood of Nepean tonight as on Saturday it will be impossible to find time to run.
Re: Run with new friend FRIDAY
A repeat of yesterday morning's workout at the Club .... 30 minutes in the chair ... Other than that, a rest day from running today, and perhaps, even a total rest day .... Will see how complacent the body gets by this afternoon ...
TGIF ...
Safe Travels and God Speed to those heading off to their respective races today and this weekend ... May the wind be at your back ....
eta: Could you put $10.00 on Black for me on the roulette table, Chris ...

Cool, nice to see the west coast take control of the daily thread!
That M&G sounded fun!
Lorne, have fun at the tourney! Sounds like a busy weekend. I loved the Sensplex, such a great spot.
Have a great run Holly! 20 miles, yowsa! 2 miles makes me happy these days.
I am sitting here waiting for an electrician to show up.
Then will remain no call for the hospital to tell us to return and wait for my son's ankle surgery. I hope it doesn't end up being a lot of sitting hours with no finish like yesterday. I am so glad it's Friday.

Walked home from work yesterday (45min). Ran into work today (25min), then went to the gym to stretch, shower and change.
I'm going to see Lowest of the Low at Lee's Palace tonight. The concert doesn't start until late, so I might have time to go to Yoga. We'll see how I feel at the end of the day. I might actually walk home again today.
Carla - so excited for you this weekend!!

Tough spin class this morning. My legs are just not recovering well/quickly. The class itself wasn't that tough, but I just couldn't get through it at the higher zones. I guess yesterday's rest day was warranted. Maybe more sleep is also called for.
Life is short. Stop whining!!- Jwolf

Re: Run with new friend FRIDAY
A nice bike ride to work this morning. A light dusting of snow over night made the trails nice and bright this morning. The snow coming down this morning was quite nice. Not the usual mass of cars this morning - presumably because it is Flex Friday or people are still distraught over the thrashing the Sens got last night...
Have a great day everyone!

Actually, I hate to even call it a walk. More like a sniff and drag.

That sounds like fun! Enjoy
I'm between training schedules and don't see a lot of time between now and the start of the next plan in January. I've managed to squeeze in 12 miles in total on the treadmill this week so far, and hope to get in a few more. Going to enjoy the rest and start up again in the New Year!
Have a great day everyone!

They're back together again? I did not know that. One of my all time favourites, I would love a concert report!
next up:
This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day
So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

No run today....hot yoga class later this evening. Thank goodness it's not Ashtanga series tonight.....two days of Ashtanga in a row have left me pretty sore.
My one legged balances are getting better, if only because I'm obsessively only standing on one leg all day......
