While I've never done the full or half in the MB marathon, I can attest that I have never seen any deer decide to join the 10K course in June!! So if you want to join that one, you should be safe from rampaging wildlife :D

And I agree with Darth from the WPS half thread - the chances of crappy snowy weather here in June are pretty slim. You're more likely to get eaten by our resident mosquitoes in June... (but that's no reason not to come here in 2012!!!!)

2011 plans
Resolution Run - 48 min (walked...it was COLD!)
WPS Half Marathon - DNF, 1:20ish at 10.75km
Fargo 5K & 10K - 5K walked 48 something. 10K 1:13:55
Try a Trail series
And others TBD...

Just let your feet relax, and your legs relax. Feel your hips relaxing, and your waist relaxing. Feel your chest relaxing, and your arms relaxing. Your shoulders relaxing, and your neck and head relaxing. Feel your entire body relaxing, all over. You can feel yourself relaxing now. You can feel a heavy, relaxed feeling coming over you. And as I continue to talk, that heavy relaxed feeling will get stronger and stronger, until it carries you into a deep, peaceful state of hypnosis. Every word that I utter is putting you faster and deeper, and faster and deeper, into a deep, peaceful state of hypnosis. You are losing yourself falling into a deep sleep. Sinking down, and shutting down. Sinking down, and shutting down. Sinking down, and shutting down, shutting down completely. And the deeper you go, the deeper you are able to go. And the deeper you go, the deeper you want to go, and the more enjoyable the experience becomes. Now you are resting comfortably in a deep, peaceful state of sleep, going deeper and faster and deeper and faster all of the time, until I bring you back. You will only accept those suggestions which are for your benefit, and that you are willing to accept.

YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.
YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.
YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.
YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.
YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.
YOU WANT TO COME TO WINNIPEG HOOPLA 2012.

And as a result of this hypnotic experience, you will find many exciting changes taking place in your life, some of which you may already be aware of and some of which you may not yet realize. And as you continue to explore these higher dimensions of experience, you will discover even more exciting changes taking place in your life, some of which you may be aware of and some of which you may not yet realize. I'm going to begin counting now, and by the time I get to the count of five, you will be fully awake and feeling wonderful!"

1...2...3...4...5.

I'm likely targeting the half next year, so if there were a relay team, I could run the first leg. I'm doubtful if I run the first leg that we'd have a shot at beating the full winner.

That's a fun idea. I like it. It's now your job to calculate times and figure out how speedy the chosen ones will need to be. There, that will keep you busy for awhile.

Mike Booth won last year in 2:32. Roughly a 3:36 pace. Let me know when you're having tryouts.

ETA: the winning relay time was 2:27. Even better.

Perhaps, a 2013 Hoopla in Halifax, for the Blue Nose, and a carry-over for the CTTR Relay the following weekend ?? :shifty: :P

Start planning now, RA, as you only have 2 years to plan for this Hoopla ...
