Thanks so much for all the volunteers and the race crew. For these great people to get up early on a wonderful Winterpeg type Christmas day and support the race with smiles and warmth shows what Manitoba is all about. A huge thank you.

So nice to see Corey G. run a great race and win it all. Nice to see Mouse, James S. and others at the race.

It was a day and race to remember with the snow, cold and wind. I was OK until mile 10 or so when someone played "Nickelback" on a stereo and added misery to my run. LOL.

Not sure of my time or pacing but I think around 15th in 1:28:xx.

I hope everyone got home safe and sound.

Corey had a great race. He looked super strong. Not sure how close he and Mike were before I saw them at mile 11. There was a good distance between them at that point.

According to a Winnipeg relative who ran it, there was a runner-deer collision on Wellington crescent!!!

There was! And according to the Free Press the deer was even more stunned than the runner and the deer had trouble getting back up and moving on because of the ice. That had to be weird to see.

Lots of twisted ankles out there and many people suffering in the brutal wind. I saw a ton of people at mile 11 that were sooooooooo done. Tough day out there.

Cinc and I are laughing soooo hard at this bizarre story! Was the runner ok?

My sympathy, that HAS to be the worst weather on record!!!

Darth really I think the photos made us twitchy about the 'Peg extremes!!

From what I heard, yes, the runner was fine.

And hey, don't even try and pretend that Alberta weather is any more predictable!

the deer collision was freaking scary - I was close when it happened, the deer took out a runner about 15 steps behind me. Will be posting a race report, but I'm still sulking that I DNF'd.

2011 plans
Resolution Run - 48 min (walked...it was COLD!)
WPS Half Marathon - DNF, 1:20ish at 10.75km
Fargo 5K & 10K - 5K walked 48 something. 10K 1:13:55
Try a Trail series
And others TBD...

They were neck & neck (Mike was about 6 feet behind Corey) at the halfway point.

Don't sulk. The conditions sucked for your first half, you had a messed up foot, and at least you tried!!!
