Frosty Thursday

Postby mcshame » Thu Oct 06, 2011 6:01 am

Haven't started a thread in a while, might as well say good morning.

Frosty this morning west of Montreal, 10k done under 55min. Longest in a while and it felt good. There's a new Tim Hortons at the mid point of this route, on colder days, it's going to be tempting.

Is it the long weekend yet?

Oh, and of course I ran with my Ipod Nano. I was joking with someone yesterday about an old Macintosh that was sitting in the hall collecting dust at work. I'm going to put in in the middle of the office as a tribute to Jobs

Two good runs the last two days, so I'm not pushing it today and will take a day of rest instead. Nice and fall like here today. Sunny and +3. Love it! Though it means I need new fall work shoes.

Had an OK run last night. Hip was great for first 2K, then achy (but not painful) for the final 4K. Was hoping to run 7K, but I cut it short to be safe.

Tonight: spin class.

Ran the trails yesterday with miss Hannah. Don't have any running plans today. Plan to run the trails again tomorrow and am trying to find someone to hike the Adirondacks with me this weekend. Hard to find fellow hikers on Thanksgiving weekend but the weather will be perfect and the leaves gorgeous so ... I want to go :D Today marks twenty-one years since my dad's death. You'd think after all that time ... but somehow I miss him today. I got my love of dogs from him but he never met a single one of my shelties. I think he'd have loved them all but I bet Hannah would have been his favourite (but then she is a flirt when it comes to men!)

Have a great day everyone!

Nice to see McShame start the morning thread! Haven't seen that in a long time.

A frosty 11K at a steady but comfortable pace this morning.

Ran 8k last night. I did the first 3k outside with my 8 year old daughter. We are running the 3K in Ottawa this weekend and I didn't know how to pace her, so we did the 3K so I could see what she could run. She did awesome, 3K in about 19 minutes (average 6:25/km), and had some left in the tank. Then I did 5K more on the treamill after she went to bed. Week one of taper almost over...one week to go.

50 minute easy run this morning. This training cycle I am noticing that my recovery and easy run paces are getting faster but HR is the same or lower...... but the long runs and the speed work aren't feeling any easier.

Morning!

Gym day with DH. 5X1K intervals @ 4:3 m/k with 3 minute recovery jogs. 10K in total.

Good news! The hand, while still swollen and ugly, is considerably improved! I couldn't do my pushups and planks though - darn it!

Have a great day.

1800m or so in the pool this morning - lots of breaststroke drill and kick. Bootcamp this afternoon! I haven't been in a couple of weeks, so it should hurt...

Up at o'dark stupid to go to the 6am hot yoga class with KBO. Made it there, much yawning on my part during the class.

Strength either at lunch or the end of the day at the gym at work.

Today is my 18 year anniversary with the military - I joined on 6 Oct 1993. Where does the time go

Did 7k last night. 4k was fartlek and I ran the last 3k at race pace. Week and a half away from the race and my legs are a little sore.

Rest day today and 8k tomorrow morning at an easy pace.

Frosty here? Nope! Gorgeous warm morning with a high of 25 in Winnipeg. Summer in October. I love it.

6am yoga class today with Eme. I only saw her yawn once.

Woke up late, missed my timing and am now awaiting reprimand. Not the best morning. Hopefully a run later...

and it's my parent's 44th wedding anniversary!

congrats! and nice on the early morning yoga! and zip it about your weather.

anyway - it's rainy and dreary here today - did some cross training at the mall last night and put a workout on my visa (taper spending - love it!). Will run home from work tonight. Was going to also spin, but the DH gave me the warning that 'you're tapering - you don't need to spin'. will need to keep this in mind when he's tapering for IMCoz in about 5 weeks.

It's my ten year anniversary, which makes me the baby anniversary of the group :)
