Running Mania

There's a new race on the books: The Niagara Falls Women's Half Marathon on June 3, 2012. It's a circle course where you run past the falls twice, and the swag is supposed to be sweee-t!

Also, it's the bicentennial of the War of 1812, so there will be a lot of other historical events going on in Niagara too.

Too bad it's so close to the Ottawa Race weekend -- oh, so many races and so little time..... will keep it on the radar for upcoming years....

I'm already committed to being at NCM in 2012 cuz Spirit is coming...and then she's gonna come to Kingston for a visit with C-Moss

BUT...definitely interested for 2013. Hmmm....this would make a nice RM Girl Hoopla!!!

That's really cool! I will likely be doing Bread and Honey, though.

I picked up their card at the Running Room yesterday. I've been thinking I'd like to do a Women's Half. Emailed some of "my girls" and the bottle of wine in the swag bag enticed them! I strongly suspect I'll be in a van full of drinkers with a running problem heading down to Niagara. I like the 8am start and hope being along the water the whole time will keep us cool(er).

This looks interesting, I'm just afraid the June 3rd date could be too hot for me. I hate running in warm temps, especially that far.

The timing is a bit strange for this one, given there's Ottawa Race Weekend and also a Women's Half Marathon in Toronto just a week before.
Of course, I can't enter 2 of the 3 of the races, but it would be nice for the ladies if they spaced things out a bit more.

I wonder when the Mens' Half will be on

You can enter all 3. 2 of them just don't have prizes for you or a shirt that will fit.

I'm doing the Toronto Women's Half as well but this sounds like fun!

I'm also in. Did the Toronto Women's half its first year. Never going back - the course was ridiculous. This one sounds way better and more scenic.

I would love to do this race!! But it'S quite the drive from Montreal and I would have to go without hubby since it'S a woman's race.

That is good to know - I was considering that race but was wondering how it would be as I read that the course is not closed to the public.

I love Mexican but have never heard of Mighty Taco - is it worth the trip?

Registered! Will have to work out the weekend logistics later, but this looks to nice to pass up. It will keep me going after Boston.

Hey there -- I just checked with the race director, and he says the course is definitely closed from 7am-12pm.

BTW, is anyone interested in doing a wine tour that weekend?
