Chilly Running Sunday!

Postby DLS » Sun Mar 04, 2012 7:16 am

It's cold and grey out, but my cough is abating, so I'm off to run the Chilly Half in Burlington, and then meet up with a bunch of Maniacs afterward!

18km in 1:29 with Pup. Felt a lot harder than it should have. Hard coming back after being so sick, but at least I am on the rebound.

Hope the racers had fun this morning (or are having, for those further west)!

rather - congrats on the new longest distance!

fe - do we get a garmin-race-report?

A nice nine K and change in the sunshine - a bit chilly with the wind, but it was nice to have some fresh air and sun! takes me past the 80 km mark for the week for the first time this year.

12k with my buds in the country. Glad the wind was mostly at our back for the return but the last k was right into the wind and it definitely was making me lose my will to live.

Chilly was my first half. Have fun today everyone!

When was the last time I posted in a daily thread... a long, long, long, long, long time ago!

Once the kidlet wakes up, we're going for a stroller run. Likely about 5 km and it will likely take me a ridiculously long time to complete. It's the effort that counts. :)
Next?

Final time in the Chilly Half: 2:03:33. Not a perfect run, but it started out strong and ended strong.

33K on country roads. Bonked a little near the end but that's part of the training stimulus I need right now.

Had a nice but windy, little 30K / 3:20:xx lsd run with Jes, Carm and Andrea this morning in the rural parts of Kanata North, along Huntmar and Old Carp Road ... left Carm and Andrea at the 26K mark, as they were running 28K and Jes and I continuing on for 30K ... Got a bet of a shock at about the 29K mark, by the Greenbelt across from the Centrum when we got spooked by cute little deer along the side of the path, or rather, we may have spooke him/her ??

Great times coming in from the Chilly Half...well done everyone!

I opted for an indoor run today. I ran 9 solid miles at a good pace. My first race of the reason isn't until the Cops Half on May 6. I feel like I'll have a really good solid base for the race at this rate. I'm soooo looking forward to spring and the snow disappearing. It really needs to go away.

Drove past you running along Kilborn. Lookin' like the strong runner you are... very light on your feet!

I did 15 K this morning in town. Very pleasant starting out going south but looping around the north wind was bone-chilling and tough. It was a good week though, 5 runs for 46 K, been a while since I've done numbers like that.
next up:

This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day
